That entire episode was a fucking nightmare. Kept waiting for Barry to wake up in the hospital but it just kept going. God damn season 4 starts tomorrow or Hader is a fucking coward
is Albert still not answering his phone? yup. haven’t seen him since he stormed out of here and cocked his gun in front of us. he’s probably out seeing the sights
At first I thought I wanted a Barry/NoHo Hank buddy spinoff but now I want a show where Hank runs the bakery with mitch and lives happily ever after. I was bummed in that episode when he didn't sound game. It would be perfect for him! It is interesting to see the juxtaposition of Barry and Fuches. Fuches keeps sort of accidentally falling into the quiet domestic life that Barry wants so badly and rejecting it, while Barry just can't get to that place at all. I enjoy the show immensely but sometimes I do miss when it was less dark and had the quirky acting class. Who knew that assassinations with a lil acting on the side would feel like the wholesome good old days. I enjoyed the finale tho. There was rly nowhere else for them to go but there for Barry's story. He was falling apart way too quickly not to end up there.
I don't like Barry's chances in a trial if that bomb detonator app records their calls for training purposes.
after sitting with it overnight I think this was my favourite episode of the show so far. had my problems with some of the storytelling this season and still do, but that finale was an absolute masterclass on every level. if it had aired the same week as BCS midseason finale I would simply have perished from stress
This show is cool. I do kind of miss the more humorous and fun tone of past seasons but it’s really refreshing to see them take the premise of “what if a hit man joined an acting class” and run it to its logical conclusions which is that these fun quirky characters are into some dark and destructive shit and it’s not going to go well for them.
Reading a lot of those articles what stood out to me was Carrigan was just going off of what Bill was describing to him. He was just acting off of a theoretical panther killing his friends and guards about to storm in. He absolutely nailed it. All the cast in this show is performing at such a high level.
Solid season finale and I have no idea where they are going to take the show from here. If someone had said this was the end of the series, it wouldn't be the worst ending and it pretty much wrapped up everyone's arc in a mostly satisfying way and didn't leave anything crazy open... Barry got caught, Gene got his career and is free, Sally escaped back to her hometown but wasn't able to avoid Barrys damage completely, Hank rescued Cristobal and while they're not free yet, they could be on their way, and Fuch's relentless pursuit of Barry ended up with him in jail after wasting plenty of outs. I know that 4 was written with 3, so they obviously have a plan but I can't see what it is (and that's probably going to lead to a good 4th season as I have no expectations at this point so they can do whatever and surprise me). My buddy had one question (and I did too when we watched it back) is where the knife came from that Sally used. I get they kept it out of focus so our death seemed like the only possibility, but other than Barry walking in with it, we never saw it again until Sally grabbed it right? So we're just to assume that he dropped it when he got knocked out and she snagged it? Don't take this as a serious criticism. I'm just wondering if I missed a shot that showed the knife other than that first one.
