God this show is just so fucking good. I genuinely didn't see the ending coming, I thought Cousineau would come back in and get himself killed or something but now I'm intrigued at what Barry in prison will be. And will he be in there with Fuches? But Jesus Christ this episode was fucking intense. I really thought they were about to kill off Sally, and then that Barry would save her at the last second and brutalize the guy, but she herself doing that was an amazing twist. I actually think it would be really a really powerful ending if we just never saw her character again (she goes to Hollywood, finally gets success, ruins it with her hubris, and then leaves for her hometown utterly broken and having done truly heinous things) but at the same time I definitely want more of her and to see how she's affected. The Hank stuff was absolutely insane. The scene with him just listening to his guys getting killed was amazingly acted by Carrigan, and then the scene with him going down the hall with the silhouette of the guy dancing was so eerie. I really thought that Cristobal might commit suicide or stab Hank or something at the end of that scene but where we left it is so uncertain. Finally, the scene with Albert and Barry at the tree was the best acting I have ever seen Hader do. Finally shows Barry as just the fundamentally broken and pathetic person he is, and how badly he wishes that weren't the case, and then how badly he needed to hear Albert saying he isn't evil, and he portrays all of that without saying a single fucking word. Just masterful writing and acting This is just a fucking amazing show, probably approaching my all time list now. Who the hell knew that the guy who played Stefon had this in him?
I kinda thought he was about to die and the whole writing season 4 thing was a big sneaky gotcha on us
Such an INTENSE 30 minutes. Can’t believe how dark it was the *entire* time. Legit thought every single character could have died at any moment. Unbelievable television.
The very brief sound bite of football commentary during the title sequence was really something. Moss is watching an interception play out during the game while the police swoop in to intercept his daughter’s killer. Just a really cool detail.
well that was intense. also laughing at the fact that in a few months we're going to be hearing this show announced for awards in the same category as Keenan and Mom lol
I liked where these last 2 episodes went and there were a lot of amazing moments, but the episodes were missing what I love about this show. I love how the show handles mundane moments and these last 2 episodes were almost completely action. I guess I understand that the narrative has to get wherever they were planning and it mostly involved action to get there, but it felt like a different show to me.
How long do you plan for the show to run? Will Season 4 be the last? A lot of times this season, it’s felt like a final season to me. I don’t know. We’re still figuring that out. Every season we’ve done of the show, people have said “No, don’t do another one.” We did Season 1, I remember The New York Times said, like, “Don’t ever do another episode.” Every season people go “No more!” I don’t know. We just take it scene by scene, and if it makes sense for it to end, it’ll end.
I love that Bill was like Gene is irredeemable and Henry is such a sweetheart he's like no he's genuinely redeemed himself
That was something, man. Just a half hour of unfiltered despair. Part of me is sad to know that the acting class aspect of this show is very likely just a thing of the past, but I’m desperate to find out where it goes next
