Really great opening, it's actually a really great twist to have Noho Hank make the turn to villain and I hope they stick with it
I was so expecting him to make some cheesy comment after acting all serious and I'm so glad that he didn't, although it was pretty funny when he gets back into his car and he's blasting whatever song that was.
So many great moments in last night's episode! The opening scene with Fuches' new guy was fantastic, especially when the guy tries shooting the safe open and has the bullet ricochet into his own leg. I also really loved Hank with the wig, and his e-mail voice over. As much as I love Bill Hader, Anthony Carrigan really takes the whole show up a notch with his portrayal of Hank.
Started watching this at my friends' up through episode 5 and loved it. Came home to wrap it up and found that HBO was removed from my updated cable package >_> (I don't pay attention to these things because I usually stream content). Caved in for a 7 day trial to finish it and watch the premiere on Amazon Prime, but now I'm left with the dilemma of whether or not it's really worth $15 a month to watch one show, which seems very silly to me. Anyone else in a similar boat? It'd literally be cheaper for me to just buy each episode but looks like I have to wait for the season to be over for them to finally be up for sale on Amazon.
That scene where he was talking about his first kill and his classmates were acting it out was fucking brutal
mobsters talking about Thomas Friedman so perfectly encapsulates this show "opening a Quinceanara store in a non Hispanic neighborhood was a poor business decision"
I would have preferred a straight monologue from Hader than what they did; it would have had a much bigger emotional impact.
Completely disagree. The juxtaposition between the actual flashbacks and the way his classmates interpreted the story is what made the scene effective.
Oh, I should have been more clear. I meant him do the monologue with the flashback but without the comedy of the other actors trying to play it out on stage.
No, it was clear that's what you meant. The scene just wouldn't be as impactful without them doing that.
