how was i not subbed to this thread? bought a bass last weekend and playing along to chlorine and wine really made me realize how wild the new bassist is. tons of really weird shit going on.
John's releasing a new edition of an old print later this week first edition had a Red & Blue variant and a second Yellow & Green variant, the new one is going to be Purple & Orange...
yellow. take my bones away, march to the sea, and eula are among their best tracks so it kinda wins by default imo.
green shows them experimenting and stretching their sound, so respect, but yeah i'd say yellow probably
Cocainium is my favorite song by them but I wanted to see if green is as underrated as it feels and yeah haha
Try Purple next, it’s definitely their most accessible album (and personally I think their best). I’d say Yellow/Greens prob the hardest to get into straight away as it’s so long (I still love it though).
For me other than Purple being my favourite, all 3 other albums are interchangeable in my ranking depending on my mood. Which I think speaks volumes as to how consistently great this band is.
Yeah I would introduce somebody to this band through Purple. That one is my favorite from rhe band and I think is their most accessible. I think it maintains aspects of all their albums prior to it, while also doing some new stuff too. I would listen to Red afterwards then and go from there. Red fucking slays
