    She haunts the roads

I don't imagine there's that many people here who care about this, but they were my favorite band through most of my adolescence, and always a pleasure to see live. Skipped them last year, might try to hit them up this year.

    Regular

Seeing Steven Page on Friday, seems to have a good mix of old BNL and some solo stuff. Should be fun!

    Trusted

The Genessee Theatre is getting some good shows. Goo Goo Dolls, Plain White T's and now Barenaked Ladies.

    Things have changed.

Some weird markets. They're not the same without Steve, obviously, but the last record was probably their best since Maroon.

Overall, the most unfairly marginalized and misunderstood band of the modern era.

Surprised to see you say that. I personally think a lot of their late 00's stuff was the best (Snacktime! included,) and All in Good Time was a record that took a lot of time to grow on me but I now think is really underrated.

But I felt like the last two records were the exact kind of cheesy dad rock that they so often get chastised for making.

I agreed that that reputation is still mostly undeserved. For whatever reason, shitting on 90's pop rock had been the 'in' thing for a while. But folks'll come around...

In any case, I'm pretty sure this is just the ramp up to their usual summer tour. Wouldn't be surprised if some Canada b-market tours get added soon. Will keep the list updated.

    Things have changed.

Didn't really like All In Good Time, save for a few songs ("Every Subway Car" is one of the better post-split songs). Really didn't like Grinning Streak at all outside of "Odds Are." Silverball just took me back to smart songwriting with a little humor but not overly jokey and dumb. "Toe to Toe" is a classic BNL ballad, "Say What You Want" distills the spirit of the 90s into that chorus so well, and "Silverball" is the best metaphor song they've done in like a decade.

Yeah, you're right: They'll do another big summer tour, but I find the off-cycle tours have better, more diverse setlists.

Agreed with you on "Toe to Toe" and "Silverball," those two are indeed the best. But otherwise, I found a lot of Silverball actively cringeworthy - "Piece of Cake" and "Passcode" especially.

Outside of "Crawl," Grinning Streak left me pretty cold. And their 2015 tour was full of songs from both those records.

If you haven't listened to All in Good Time in a little while, I'd really recommend giving it another spin (heh). I always liked "Four Seconds" for its weirdness, but "Jerome," "On the Lookout," "The Love We're In," "I Have Learned," all great songs in retrospect. But I especially love "Watching the Northern Lights," I seriously thought of catching their tour last summer just to see that, and I'm unsure of whether I missed out or not!

Good note on the off-cycle tours, hopefully they do such a show somewhere in SoCal sometime soon.

U.S. tour kicks off tonight, updated the OP to include all additional dates they've announced for this year.

To my surprise, not a single West Coast/SoCal date...
