Seeing this in a few hours and most of the seats were sold when I went to buy tickets, which is rare for a Tuesday afternoon. This movie might make a billion.
What a chad (and this is coming a few days after loosely praising/giving a neutral take on Sound of Freedom)
I'm pretty ambivalent towards the original Butterfly but the one on the Barbie soundtrack is actually kinda a banger ngl
If “Greta Gerwig’s Barbie” hits so hard, “Lena Dunham’s Polly Pocket” feels like a pretty obvious pitch to try and recreate that, lol. Like, an AI could come up with it.
I would watch Mighty Max at like 6am when I was a kid. I don’t remember much, but I recall liking it a good bit.
I keep laughing when I think of Will Ferrell being spooked by Midge lol. That reaction had me rolling.
The sequel to this will have a sideplot about Margot Barbie falling in love in the real world and will be directed by Mia Hansen-Løve
Oh I'm not a Lena fan, lol. I agree that it's significantly less appealing. I just think, from a Hollywood perspective, the "why" is pretty obvious. It's a very cynical, like, "let's reverse engineer and recreate this hit a second time, with [what seems like] the same basic formula!"
