Alden Ehrenreich is awesome and can't wait to see him in a horror flick. Wasn't the role of Christian (played by Jack Reynor) in Midsommar down to him and Alden?
Iirc there was some issue with distribution rights But yeah hey @irthesteve you know if this is something Shout can pick up?
i received zero e-mails about it, only the shipping confirmation, i was so confused i emailed them! hahah
I cannot wait to see Weapons, but my wife and I never go to the theater anymore unless it’s with our kids - and she hates horror films - so I’ll be waiting for it to hit streaming. I don’t recall Barbarian coming out or hearing much about it but given all the praise Weapons has received, I decided to try and scratch my Weapons itch and check out Barbarian tonight. I knew *nothing* about this going into it and it was a wildly fun ride. Going into this completely blind, I thought for sure within the first 20 minutes that Keith was going to be the villain and their double booking was all an elaborate set-up. I figured this was going to be the case all the way until the mother comes out and bashes his head in. Thought the cut out of that scene to Justin Long was fantastic, and then Justin's character of just playing a straight-up, douche bag was such a good role for him (no offense, Justin). Got such a kick out of him being so excited about the extra square footage in an insane, clearly fucked up basement entrapment. I didn't have many issues with this going all types of ways or falling apart toward the end, it was such a fun ride that none of that bothered me. My only wish is that we would have gotten a little more backstory/screen time with the the flashbacks of Frank. Overall, this was a terrorizing film mixed in with a good blend of comedy. My hype for Weapons was extremely high and this just raised the bar.
Yeah, I rewatched this this weekend and it's even better the third time around. Really works when you know what you're getting into.
