Finally saw this and enjoyed it. Would have been scary AF at the movies, but at home it wasnt too bad (im a wuss for horror). Have some questions and things that dont quite jive story wise, but overall a fun, creepy experience.
I don't remember the hype being that it was super scary, just that it goes pretty crazy in ways you don't expect, similar to Malignant the year before.
Thats on my list next. And i think the darkness and claustraphobia of the tunnels in this one was pretty intense and definitely would have been enhanced in a dark theater with top notch sound. I have heard malignant (based on the rotten tomatoes synopsis) is not really scary at all, which is good. Im a sucker for a good twist so ill get to that soon.
The anxiety of the first 30 minutes, and the fear I felt from the tunnel jump scare, was something I haven’t felt from a movie in a long time, even with horror movies I really like. And then the hard cut to Justin Long singing, the comedy of his character, and the crazy/disturbing reveal of what’s going on — all that is what made me really love this
Seeing the movie in theaters the hard cut legit confused me. I thought something happened with the projectors.
