So funny that Jet Lag Gemini was brought up because I just thought of them randomly two nights ago and listened to their album for the first time in like a decade. Used to be obsessed with it
Got a good one for you all today - We Are Action. This album is straight fire from 2007, I really can't believe these guys didn't blow up. Kinda Mayday-ish but with more of an edge, Jason Lancaster even features on one song.
i know dave he drummed for them, we still keep in touch! when he told me the singer was in JLG i definitely geeked a lil bit hahaha
Does anyone know what happened with Violent Joy (side project of the dudes from Envy on the Coast)? They said back in 2021 they had a full length that needed to be mastered then just went dark.
These are all the bands that faded away that I can think of (most are from the Myspace days): Greene Reveal (formerly Everdae which was better, but apparently GR had a new album in 2017? Crazy) Affirmative Cameraman Action Action Our Lives In Motion Upper Class Trash A Heartwell Ending Dropping Daylight (then Kidnap Kings which recorded a full album that can only be found online, but was never released) Madina Lake Nineball Great Glass Elevator Anorexic Beauty Queen Beat Union The Lashes Dating Delilah Decoder (apparently changes their name and album art to Lead Hands?) Fire When Ready Flight To Athena Hammer No More The Fingers Her Space Holiday PlayRadioPlay! It's Like Love Letter Kills Moros Eros Never Tell A Lie No One Goes Home (oh they apparently became Filmspeed and have released music up until last year) OH NO OH MY Paper Rival Pilot To Gunner (Just came out with a new album last year after a ten year break?!) Pinsky Quarashi Robotanists Rory (such a fucking GREAT Pop Punk album and they just vanished) Self Against City Self Made Soul Set Your Goals (kinda?) So They Say Goodbye Soundscape Sound The Alarm The Sunstreak The Fever The Hard Lessons The Zutons The Hush Sound The Rise Of Science (go listen to Casey) Tokyo Rose Tornavalanche Under The Influence of Giants (lead singer became AWOLNATION) Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start Volcano, I'm Still Excited!! Waking Ashland It's A King Thing
i was at their first show! fastest band to get signed from my area , 6 months after their first show they were on fueled by ramen
I have that KK album and the Dropping Daylight album is INSANE. The opener and closer are so good. I've seen that they have new projects and stuff but they aren't my thing. I think it was called American Scarecrow?
Oh shit, I remember them as well. I kept thinking "Quiet Company" but Quietdrive was the one. Apparently they still exist? They do shows every now and again.
I meant to put Another Day Late in there as well. There's a couple more rattling around in my head but I can't quite fully remember their names for some reason.
I try my best. I only put bands that I think faded away (at least mostly), but I do have a bunch of others from that era rummaging around somewhere haha
I forgot to mention, but if anyone wants any of those, I have some albums/EPs so I can make a Google drive if anyone is interested.
I love that Under the Influence of Giants album so much. They evolved from Home Town Hero, who also belong in this thread.
Decoder is a throwback. Haven't really heard anything that came close to that sound or Oceana's Clean Head ever since, unless I've been missing out on some hidden gems.
