Replying to a post from almost two years ago but this seemed like a good place to put it - there's a new Hundred Reasons single! First in 15 years. I really like it.
Goddamn! I have tickets to see them in February actually, I wonder if they're mounting a full comeback
I'd actually put off buying tickets to see them because I'm not that interested in seeing a going through the motions nostalgia tour but I might actually go now.
Which show was it? I've just seen that their London date is Brixton Academy. Seems a pretty big venue for them.
I had tickets for Norwich - they've cancelled that and Nottingham. Apparently its due to one of them just having a kid, but it seems kinda arbitrary to cancel just two dates. Pretty sure Norwich was sold out too.
Damn I was searching for a Living With Lions thread and this was one of the only places the band is talked about here. HOLY SHIT is so good, still.
Great band! Great record! My favorite shirt for a LONG time was my Living With Lions shirt I got from them after Holy Shit. I'd still wear it regularly if it weren't for my cat maiming it (and me in it). I was carrying my cat upstairs away from the band in my basement when the drummer let out one singular LOUD AS HELL snare hit. Two seconds later my cat was already upstairs and I had four holes in my favorite shirt and a bunch of blood trying to escape. Damn what a killer band.
I think I remember they had to take their Holy Shit records off the shelves due to religious profanation, so stupid and sad, I'm sure had it been a bigger band they wouldn't have had to lose that much money. Not sure if it was that big of a blow to set them back. I definitely enjoyed that record, I'll need to get back to it soon and check if it holds up
They were never emo enough to be emo, never pop punk enough to be in that crowd, a bit indie/country on some songs, so I feel like they just didn't fit in one particular part of the "scene"
Yeah, you're exactly right. Kind of little bit of this, that, and such. Really nailed it though. Hoping they return soon.
Yeah they’re in the same general genre niche as the forecast but definitely not it. I bought that cd based on hearing one song on a victory records free sampler back in the day, so good
I haven’t thought about The Forecast in forever. I’m about to play them now for nostalgia. In the Shadow of Two Gunmen is worth a listen if you don’t know them
Still fond of the Chicago chamber-pop band 1900s, who have not released anything in over a decade and presumably no longer exist. Cold and Kind is an unsung classic of the genre. (The followup Return of the Century is great in its own odd way.)
