Glad this thread was bumped, I was listening to Dead Poetic's New Medicines a bunch lately. Guy's screaming was terrible but aside from that the record is still very enjoyable.
Great album. IIRC the vocalist never liked screaming so that's why they never did it again after that first album
I recently found a folder on my computer of mixes I made myself and others like... 15 or so years ago, a TON of stuff that will fit in this thread. I'll post as I revisit them.
Still eagerly awaiting the new Bleed The Dream album that has been hyped up for a few years now. These guys used to kill it back in the mid 00s. Damn I miss that era of music.
Yeah I still check their page a few times per year but I've pretty much given up at this point. It seemed like they were close to finishing it in 2011... then in 2014... then in 2016... I don't know what holding them up all this time.
I spent about an hour last night going through their social media handles and it seems they tried to raise $4,000 in 2019 for the album but only got $1,000 which ultimately killed the project. Sucks as I always thought these guys were going to do well when they released their classic debut. Their drummer died sadly shortly after and then their singer Brendon got kicked out. When Brendon finally returned it seemed they lost a lot of momentum but I was always hoping their next album and a solid tour would get them back on the right track.
Ah damn, if I knew about this, I would've participated. It's a shame they didn't take advantage of the Kickstarter craze around 2011 / 2012. There was still some momentum about their reunion back then, so maybe their campaign would've been more successful. This is one of those cases where I feel like the loss of Absolutepunk accidentally hurt some of those scene bands who, for most, were associated with it but now are memories of the past. Their latest news over here still got some traction, and I have no idea what other website would still write about them in 2021.
First show I ever went to was Brazil opening for Emery and From First to Last! I remember them being great.
I’d be cool to see Moneen get together and record something again. When they play occasional live shows, they still sound as great as ever.
