Does anyone remember when The Higher was more of an emo band?
Is that the band that changed their name to Just Surrender?

  3. Hell yeah! I used to love this band. I saw them once at a really small venue in Provo, UT way back in the day. I think Facing New York played too. Or Before Braille (there's another band to add to this list!) and it was a great show. It's crazy that the singer is Portugal The Man now...

Backing Deas Vail, The Morning Of, Ivoryline, Meg & Dia, and My American Heart. All great bands; Deas Vail and Meg & Dia especially was two of my favorites ever.

Weren't they teasing a reunion last year? What happened to that?

  5. Oh man, I loved these guys. Their first album blew me away, and their live show was so much fun!

Hadn't Deas Vail come out with an album like a year ago give or take?

  7. Shiny Toy Guns. What's going on with them? They are always on and off.

  8. Recover, for sure.

The most recent one I can find is the s/t, which came out in 2011 (with a b-sides EP in 2012).

  11. Their last full-length was in 2011. They released what looks like a B-sides EP in 2012, but that's it.

This is the only 1997 song I know, but I played it a TON.

I remember they were playing a show at a roller rink the day after I heard of them so I went and checked them out. I tried to go to as many of their shows as possible haha

Oh exactly, it's weird to think that Anatomy of a Ghost went to become Portugal. The Man.. a bit simillar to Oceana changing into Polyenso I guess. Both of these worked perfectly for me ;p

Don't know why but I've just started humming a Kut U Up song mindlessly. Did they start playing again in recent years or whatever? I liked them back in the day :)

I guess they kind of broke up, but then Jemina Pearl put put a solo album and disappeared from music.

Unsung Zeros come to mind, used to love them.

Someone also mention Name Taken. Ugh, probably my favorite band when they were still together. Hold On is still so good.

The Beautiful Mistake. EP, debut, and followup were all great.
