I'm pretty sure CIM is still together, but they haven't released anything since 2014. Unbelievable Ep tho.
Everything but their last album is super good, they had key members leave. I have to listen to it again but I remember not feeling it as much.
I blame a Rise Records consumer base that wasn't ready for this band around 2009. I will say it is the most under-rated "post-hardcore" album ever. It is incredibly complex and lush, and the attention to detail, and unbelievable guitar-work still stands today, and it is one of the greatest shames that they were discouraged from making more albums under the pmtoday name.
The Sophomore Attempt - Hallways EP still stands as one of my favorite collections of pop-rock jams. The vocalist had some great hooks under his arsenal
Didn't they break up due to creative differences? Oversimplifying I know, but I swear I recall them making a statement to that effect. And now the 3 brothers (+ another dude) are doing ambient/electronic things as Move Orchestra.
I always thought that was bs and they just wanted out of their rise contract. They were making them tour with really crappy bands they sounded nothing like and advertising them very poorly. A lot of bands have done it, unfortunately. I'm unsure how tides of man got out of their deal, maybe Spencer was the one they had their contract under or something. Another band I miss that was too good for rise.
This band was really good but they never really caught on because they were touring with bad generic screamo bands. They also had three different female vocalists, each one left before the next album because they got pregnant. They got very Cassadaga-era Bright Eyes with their last album
Speaking of TREOS..as phenomenal as Between the Heart is, I've always been disappointed with the production.
They just broke up, they were basically the British Alexisonfire but more melodic if that makes sense? They definitely have sounded like menzingers and gaslight at times. Super good music. Older, heavier stuff https://youtu.be/vXpOLW_r4_w
