I’ve spent the past 2 hours combing through Name Taken songs/vids on YouTube. Can confirm they’re my favorite of any band I’ve loved who’ve faded away. I’ve seen so many bands from 03-06 come and go… but fuck. Their LP did not get the attention it deserved. I’ve heard from friends that Chads voice was polarizing? Idk.. those guys should still be putting out albums today.

Was just thinking about the band Cherri Bomb and how much it sucks that after breaking up, everyone involved chose to take a terrible change in musical direction. Feels like squandered talent, and it's a shame.

  3. I like Hey Violet's debut album, but yeah their following material didn't grab me and it's sad how unceremoniously they ended.

When I think about it, The Warning reminds me of Cherri Bomb here and there

    Really dig The Warning.

But yeah, my post was prompted because I looked up the former lead singer to see if maybe she continued in a rock direction when Hey Violet didn't, and nope! She went hard pop too. Le sigh.

  6. I vaguely remember her first solo song but then she kinda went quiet on the music front for quite a while, so I had no idea she actually released more.

Only three songs or so relatively recently, looks like one a year, so she's not pushing the career very hard, it seems.

Hopefully Dryjacket or Hopeless will release new pressings of For Prosperity for the 10th anniversary next year.

    Mega reach here:

I have a memory of watching a video like 24 years ago of someone in Over It (Peter I think) pranking LP from Yellowcard, trying to sell him snakes as LP was really into snakes at the time.

It was potentially a PC multimedia bonus on a CD/EP/Sampler (Lobster Records related?).

Does anyone remember such a thing?

Have searched online which has yielded nothing. It's way too vivid to have been a dream.

catchy lil tune, I’m into it, nice to hear his voice again

  13. This might be a controversial opinion, but I loved the synthpop stuff he did as Young Love. Glad he's putting out music again

I did not like that one unfortunately. I couldn’t get into Brian’s vocals. I really tried but I just never came around. Then they broke up so I moved on. But hard feelings I jammed the fuck out of.
