I’ve spent the past 2 hours combing through Name Taken songs/vids on YouTube. Can confirm they’re my favorite of any band I’ve loved who’ve faded away. I’ve seen so many bands from 03-06 come and go… but fuck. Their LP did not get the attention it deserved. I’ve heard from friends that Chads voice was polarizing? Idk.. those guys should still be putting out albums today.
Was just thinking about the band Cherri Bomb and how much it sucks that after breaking up, everyone involved chose to take a terrible change in musical direction. Feels like squandered talent, and it's a shame.
I like Hey Violet's debut album, but yeah their following material didn't grab me and it's sad how unceremoniously they ended. When I think about it, The Warning reminds me of Cherri Bomb here and there
Really dig The Warning. But yeah, my post was prompted because I looked up the former lead singer to see if maybe she continued in a rock direction when Hey Violet didn't, and nope! She went hard pop too. Le sigh.
I vaguely remember her first solo song but then she kinda went quiet on the music front for quite a while, so I had no idea she actually released more.
Only three songs or so relatively recently, looks like one a year, so she's not pushing the career very hard, it seems.
