He played rhythm guitar in a band called Over It, but I remember it being such a huge step down from DLD. I’m just making an assumption here, but it seemed like he was just a hired gun rather than someone who was invested and involved in the writing process.
lol yea my post probably wasn’t very fair. To clarify, I just loved DLD so much, so when I heard Over It and found that Ryan wasn’t at the helm, I just wasn’t interested. Nothing against the band.
You might be thinking of Runner Runner. Over It are amazing and better than DLD. Ryan only joined Over It at the very end before the whole band became Runner Runner, he was always in RR and they weren't good.
Although... I don't remember that Ryan was the singer for Runner Runner, that feels wrong. Peter Munters definitely wasn't though

This is how I feel about the singer of Acceptance being in Anberlin. This is also pretty much how I feel about Pentimento being Reggie and the Full Effect's backing band.
For a while the keyboardist for Acceptance was also in Anberlin, no? and wasn’t Runner Runner made up of other scene band members too? Like the bassist of Rufio
The keyboardist was a touring member of Anberlin for three years, yes. Jon Berry of Rufio was the only non-Over It member in Runner Runner.
Timing Is Everything is also incredible and my favourite of the 3. The fact they were, I assume, early 20s in 2002, the technical playing is so impressive. Appreciate it's not that out and out catchy but there is still plenty of melody and memorable moments. Truly original for the time and holds up so well today. Such an underrated band (less than 5 songs with over 100k plays on Spotify).

Ohhhhh now I remember Runner Runner. Yea, I gave Over It some more time today. Not bad at all, but personally not a fan of the vocals. But yes.. Runner Runner was one I forgot about that Ryan was involved in.
Totally missed Sent By Ravens teasing stuff on their instagram! Super stoked on that. Zach had a side project going for a bit called Brave Future and released a few singles. I’m curious to see how aggressive their sound will be now.
