Aphex was the poster child of this for a while since he just kinda released less and less music (and played fewer shows) over the course of a decade and a half until going silent before finally dropping Syro. Was also gonna say Boards of Canada, but then again being reclusive and sparsely releasing albums is kinda their style, heh.
Haven't read through the thread, but Valencia is the one I first thought of. I'm sure there are more that I'm not thinking of at the moment.
I have it, I'll be happy to send it your way. I'll upload it in a little bit and quote you with the link edit: here ya go! This includes the 4 song EP and the 2 Mark Trombino demos GBT
This. Infiltrate Destroy Rebuild is seriously one of my top 5 favorite albums. I hated what happened to these guys, they just couldn't keep it together with their singer.
I just saw Unwritten Law with Fenix TX a month ago, they're still very much active. She Wants Revenge is doing a reunion/anniversary of their debut album tour in July. SOTY are still around as well, new album on the horizon.
Just listened to the Conditions debut album the other day....their follow-up completely killed all their momentum :(
For me it was The Morning Of. The Way I fell In was a huge improvement over their debut, then they released a few b-sides and a new song and just....poof. I miss those dudes.
Phantom Planet should have kept going. I dig all of their albums, but their self titled is a classic to me.
The Lives of Famous Men and The Stiletto Formal. They both just vanished. Also these guys. So many bands disappearing. Something foul is afoot.
