Same band but they changed their name multiple times. The Kidnap Kings album never officially got released but it got leaked online.

i remember getting this cd for free off ebay from some guy who threw it in for free, fun record!

 

This is sick haha. I am a sucker for some good piano rock though.

Octone records didn’t really promote it

Plus they changed their name to dropping daylight when they got signed, so they lost their momentum with their original name building up to getting signed, They used to be called Sue Generis

 

Yeah, I don't get the whole changing your name three times. That must have completely killed any momentum.

 

Looks like Sebastian and Allen are in a cover band now where they do weddings and events haha.

Jeez, this is a throwback. I remember very, very vividly, waiting for my friends to show up at the mall, and me killing time in Hot Topic, where they had this album hooked up to a pair of shitty headphones, and I listened to like three songs and then bought the CD with money I planned on using for dinner.

Simpler times.

 

I mean if they're happy that's great, but like he's so talented why wouldn't they just make a new band or bring back Dropping Daylight?

 

Not getting another album from great musicians pains me. Knowing I'll most likely never get another Nightmare Of You album hurts.

100%, I straight away thought that it is such a waste of talent to just cover other peoples songs at weddings and events.

As long as they’re happy though I guess then I can’t judge that. I hope we get some new material again someday though.

I never realised but apparently he played piano on both Paramore’s RIOT and a few Breaking Benjamin albums.

 

He also did the Code Lyoko soundtrack

They put up new profile picture, banner and added a video teaser for something new.

 

Rory made a video years ago where they said they were working on new stuff on something. Don't think anything actually ever came from it which bums me out.

 

I found a bright yellow Rory shirt when I was cleaning out my closet yesterday. Cool band.
