Loved sharks, really thought they were going somewhere when they released selfhood. The singer recently started a new band called the violent hearts and does vocals.
A Static Lullaby's final album is the one that hooked me back then due to the southern metal influences, like a cross between Every Time I Die and I Am Hollywood era He Is Legend. I should revisit the rest of the discography which I'm less familiar with.
They were fantastic as always. They don't have a keyboard player these days so it is missing a little fullness, but honestly they're so good you barely care. They played both albums (minus like 3 or 4 songs and even opened with Get Happy from their first EP which was a surprise). A few videos someone posted are below. I wish I could find a full recording of Interested because they destroyed Also the opener Fancy Gap was really good too and I won't be surprised to see them blow up
both of those videos sound fantastic, did they say anything at all about why after so long they played a show or if they have future plans of any sort?
anyone in here listen to or heard of the band rogue wave? this song is in the film just friends towards the end and i always enjoyed but finally shazammed it to find out who it was by.
Re-posting this playlist I made of all (most of) the bands we've mentioned in this thread. It's cool seeing that a few of them on the playlist have been playing shows again.
Been spinning the band I Was Afraid a ton lately, its been like 7 years since their last release and no one really comes close to the exact sound they had. A perfect mix of emo, space rock revival, and shoegaze.
Rogue Wave is excellent and this song has always been a favorite of mine. Got me into The Naked and Famous as well, since there was some overlap or RIYL or something, and TNAF has consistently been in my top 10 listens for the last eight years as a result haha. Fun memory.
Nope. They play a show around here every few years. A couple of the guys moved away but I think they're all back now. Most of the guys play in wedding bands, cover bands and various local projects so it's always fun to see where they pop up. Josh (the lead singer) and his wife own the venue they're playing at. When Josh put out an EP around 2020-21 he said in an interview with a local alt weekly that HOF were writing but I haven't heard anything since. Josh's first solo album is pretty solid...I didn't care for his second that was more personal taste. Most of the guys also put out an album as Roseland about 10 years ago now (holy shit time flies) that was pretty solid That said there's just something special about HOF that the other projects can't match imo
Don’t know if there’s a better thread, but new Junior Varsity song on Tuesday! https://www.facebook.com/share/r/18AK34hLYu/?mibextid=wwXIfr
yeah! they sound great. the new songs sound like beach blonde with a bit of screaming but extremely catchy.
Oh wow, I completely forgot about Bleach Blonde somehow. I'm gonna have to dive back into them now, so thanks for that! I've had DDG come up on shuffle a lot lately, which I'll never complain about, so the timing is great for me.
