Seems to me like this scene has a lot of bands with similar sounding names. I tend to get them confused. Here is my (ever-growing) list. Feel free to add. Tonight Alive The Word Alive Miss May I Memphis May Fire Streetlight Manifesto Manchester Orchestra Knuckle Puck Neck Deep Real Friends Driver Friendly Sleeping with Sirens The Recieving End of Sirens Jawbox Jawbreaker Seaway Seahaven Stick to Your Guns Stray from the Path Cold War Kids Good Old War Boston Manor Joyce Manor To the Wind Wind in Sails Wolves at the Gate Wolves in the Throne Room For Today There for Tomorrow A Skylit Drive Design the Skyline Major League Modern Baseball American Football Set It Off As It Is Sing It Loud The Rocket Summer The Dangerous Summer The Summer Set And, for some reason... Copeland Anberlin
all those dear/deer bands. Isnt there bands called Dear Hunter and The Deer Hunter or something like that?
Yep, Dear Hunter/Deerhunter/Deer Hoof/Deer Tick/Dear and the Headlights. I know they're not all close in name or sound, but I still mix them all up.
Ooh that reminds me, my band opened for The Rocket Summer back in May. We abbreviated it to TRS when discussing the show amongst ourselves because typing The Rocket Summer takes like 4 seconds too long. Anyways the day we announced the show our singer announced we were opening for The Ready Set.
At first glance, Nick Cave/Nick Drake has always gotten me. I always think for a split second some new posthumous Nick Drake thing has come out.
Coasts Coasta Always think Coasta is finally releasing something new when instead it's some crappy brit-pop band.
the funniest is still so many people thinking Weezer sings Teenage Dirtbag and not Wheatus that Weezer was eventually like fuck it and covered it
Bowling For Soup did the same thing with Stacy's Mom, they even recorded the cover and put it on ITunes so they could make some money off the confusion. Edit: It's also become a live staple for them
Not mixed up, but whenever I'm skimming the news on the site and see "Frameworks" I get excited because I think we're getting new "Fireworks". I think others had the same problem because it was mentioned it one of threads once haha.
First ones that come to mind: - Copeland's Aaron Marsh with Aaron Sprinkle; - Jawbox / Jawbreaker - Attack Attack! / Attack! Attack! - Of Mice & Men / Of Monsters And Men
La Dispute and Listener Tigers Jaw and Title Fight and Joyce Manor and Wonder Years and Manchester Orchestra My Chemical Romance and Black Veil Brides
Today I spent almost an hour listening to Vince Staples and Vic Mensa so I would stop mixing them up.
