Only had a chance to listen to the first 8 tracks and then got interrupted, but I loved everything that I heard.

I keep getting confused because this thread is for their last album lol

A few songs into this one and really enjoying it. I think they get a bit of a bad rap critically after their first two records were SO well received. Honestly, I'd have to revisit Mirage Rock - that was the only one that I really recall not being that impressed with, but I was also into a lot of different stuff musically at that time.

Otherwise I think they are quite consistent and really great at what they do.

  13. After my first listen, I'd put this up there with the first two records. I'm really digging it. It's not so much a return to form as a refinement of form.

  14. Yeah, Mirage Rock took a long time to click with me. There's still some stuff on it I immediately skip. I always thought of it as the band attempting an Eagles album. There's definitely some treasure on there though. "How to Live", "Feud", "Everything's Gonna Be Undone" and "Electric Music" all float my boat.

I just picked the album up, the sticker says ""the 3rd best band in the carolinas" - Unknown" haha

The bonus disc for Mirage Rock really helps that album out for me. 5 additional songs are like an extra half of an album and they are all great. Plus, you get the title track.

The first song on this thing is my favorite song of theirs since anything off cease to begin

Another song from that era, this one Ben Bridwell solo as Birdsmell, that always struck me as very akin to Mirage Rock -->
