In 2 days they have raised the initial bid of $500 to the amazing ammount of $520. Really surpised someone actually is considering paying to play this.
It's truly mind-boggling that there are still people who are actively defending this. PS: Scamboozle is saying that something is coming tomorrow. Wonder if that article is finally getting released?
Received an email that the article should be released tomorrow morning through the star ledger and NJ.com.
https://www.nj.com/advice/2023/04/b...omplaints-refund-requests.html?outputType=amp Key takeaway for me is the sales info: 6k sold out of an anticipated 12k. Nowhere near what the festival probably expected but nowhere near as bad as most of us were probably thinking.
I mean John D said they sold 6k, so realistically expect it to be actually like 4K-5k at this point. I love the line about people needing to get over MCR and FOB……he is the one who teased it and put those expectations in peoples heads and the “out lineup will blow wwwy out of the water.” That was all him.
I noticed that too. It’s still a far cry from the 40K number he threw out a while ago. And those crowd photos are gonna look awful spread across multiple stages in a big field. EDIT: also, while I’m glad someone finally wrote a story about this, I feel like it still held back. I think the doxxing & harassment of fans and clear lack of organization/ safety concerns could have been its own story— and none of that was even touched on here.
What if he’s using the Garth Brooks method of counting and considers 1 VIP ticket equal to 2 GA tickets
LOL the article really isn't that great. If it was like hundreds of people being pissed, but its like 2 dozen people. Granted this festival is a shit show and I in no way support it like I did of the ones at Giants Staium and Asbury, but I feel like a better article and write up of the whole situation would have done more justice.
2 dozen people who have the knowledge, means, & willpower to do something about being victims of fraud. How many more have no clue who to contact or what to do? How many more just haven't gotten around to it yet? This article will probably help those people tremendously, & will absolutely bring way more shit to light. One of my best friends (the girl in the article with the support dog) got her money back JUST NOW. It's not a coincidence that this article just dropped & she's getting her money back a few hours later Edit: I also agree though, they could have written a significantly more damaging article if they had wanted to. But I'm personally aware of something positive happening because of it already, if anything it's cool to see a news article actually working the way it's intended
i agree with both points, finally someone is doing something about this. Despite him saying he would give refunds, he wasn’t answering anyone or doing anything about it. So anything helps, but there were many layers that were skipped in this obviously. The harassment, the blatant false promises, the gaslighting people asking simple questions, the hiring of regular people for security etc instead of hiring a trained firm (that to me is the scariest thing of all about this Fest taking place). So much more that could have been covered.
