The job fair to hire hundreds of employees for this fest that is in two weeks is supposed to be this weekend at a place that isn’t even aware it’s there. Keep reading that out loud to yourself and imagine how bonkers that is.
I straight up would not feel comfortable going to a festival that does not have security two weeks out. There just simply is not enough time to properly screen people for security and do background checks and ensure the people being hired actually care about attendees safety. I was at Lollapalooza in 2017 where the Las Vegas shooter had booked a hotel room overlooking Grant Park and while there wasn’t a ton that could have been done to prevent that, it’s made me waaaaay more attentive to security and safeness at festivals.
ESPECIALLY one with moshing/crowdsurfing. I’ve surfed before at venues with rent-a-cops doing security and they pushed me back into the crowd where I fell on my ass. You’re also gonna have general music fans waiting for Pappa Roach or Rick Ross or some shit while Billy Hardcore and Sammy Straightedge crowdkill each other to E Town Concrete. If the intelligent and plugged-in minds on this site can’t even agree on the etiquette and nuance of hardcore dancing, just imagine how poorly a 16 year rap fan or whatever retired marine they get to do security will respond to it
"Billy Hardcore and Sammy Straightedge." Holy shit. LOL Perfect. But yeah... This is a very accurate take on the way things like that would go down. Rent-a-cop vibes are not the way to go with this crowd.
Yea I don’t mind it being an embarrassing shitshow, but I don’t want anyone getting hurt or taken for anymore money.
You really can't make this shit up. Holy fuck... Can't wait for the inevitable screenshots of John D harassing and cyber-bullying people on that post.
Ever since they pulled the podcast and reposted the edited version, I havent seen him make any social media comments. I think his lawyer pulled him aside and told him to shut the fuck up.
Offering artists an opportunity to bid on open 25 minute set slots at the festival....with the money going to anti-bullying charities.
*Shows up to his “first of its kind” lawsuit (first time an Instagram page has been sued by a festical) John’s lawyer opens up his briefcase and it’s empty save for a single Apple core
I get why some people did it, based on what he basically teased and Bamboozle lineups of the past. People legit thought they were buying a ticket for $400 that had MCR, Fallout Boy, Midtown, Brand New, Yellowcard, Thursday, Thrice, Starting Line etc. he legit tried to hype that they were gonna blow WWWY out of the water.
Go back to page 1 of this forum. I think everyone here is pretty smart and realistic- and even we were talking about it getting Green Day, MCR, Brand New, The Gaslight Anthem, Skrillex, Weezer, etc. Before wave 1 and the insane posts, this really looked and sounded like something that might be worth that price point.
Yeah I'm not discounting that but I've only ever blindly bought festival passes after they were established and been consistently running (Governors Ball). I got burned once in 2019, not to any fault of the fest but because that's when it started trending outside my tastes. For something that hasn't been active in a decade, I would have never pre-bought.
