I imagine a number of bands will continue to drop out leading up to the day of the show. Eventually, this will look like a middle school battle of the bands.
Wow. Also looks like that Alex Sampson guy dropped too, who was originally being billed as his first US show.
This is crazy. John D actually tried to trademark “Adjacent Festival” to sabotage them hahahaha he’s such a scumbag
Linc’s special guest is also gone, so no mystery act, which is actually a Bamboozle thing from the beginning. Obviously John D doesn’t know how Bamboozle works.
Kinda surprising that I’ve had a few people ask me if I’m going to this, when I mentioned what a shit show it currently is, they had no clue what I was talking about . I don’t think the general public has any idea of what’s really going on.
It feels like they announced him 5 or 6 different times. If it were any other festival I would have thought he was supposed to be a headliner
I think so, I am not a big fan, but they are a relatively bigger band (on this lineup) and a reunion. When the first wave of bands was announced I thought it was a good get ,thinking bigger bands would be put around them
It would’ve been their first east coast show in 7 years. Seems they took a break in 2016, came back in 2022 to do like 4 west coast shows and a short Australia stint. Not necessarily a reunion, but a unique get.
yeah, my bad. The way people were posting at WWWYF about them being "back" and them saying they are finally putting out new music I lumped them into what was being considered a reunion
Bottom line? It's a pretty big deal that they dropped. I've seen quite a few posts related to them dropping/asking Bamboozle to address it... Which hasn't really happened with the other drops. Really curious to see if/how they address it. I'm generally willing to give festivals the benefit of the doubt with cancellations like this (e.g., bands of a certain size)... But most make the announcement and then update the poster. They are just dropping the band and not updating the poster. So. Fuck 'em?
When boys like girls found out they were playing the world's biggest rap, hip hop, and beetbox festival im sure they called and said "hey man, I think you accidentally booked us. Were not a hip hop, rap OR beetbox band. Sorry for the confusion. Bye bye"
Joined the Bamboozle Festival 2023 group to see what all else people were saying and... People are disputing credit card charges, etc. It's really hard to tell just how many people are doing these things because the folks complaining are always the most vocal (and in a FB group like that it kinda means they're relatively internet savvy; relatively) but... It's not a small number of people. Virtually nobody in that group seems to be taking this positively. At best, folks are indifferent and confused.
I think even some people who are involved in the music industry don’t know much about what’s been going on. It’s probably because it’s been such a long time since bamboozle was relevant.
You guys, 70% of the audience hasn’t even heard of the festival yet. This is all according to the plan. They’re just clowning around on us.
I made this thread less than a week after the Adjacent thread was made, & this is at 2,177 comments to Adjacent's 351 hahaha. Hopefully John D can be happy about how much he's outpacing Adjacent in the ONE place where it's actually happening. At this point, if it does still go on as planned, I just hope everyone attending stays safe
John D's gonna try to sue all of us for "false advertising" and "illegitimate shit-posting" but will spare @theasteriskera because they "got it and were just trying to spread the good word." He will unveil this lawsuit via video and will continue to not be able to pronounce "Rmourz" correctly.
