I can't even keep up with all the drama. What was Alphono's explanation as to why John thinks he's behind scamboozle? John D claimed on the podcast that Alphonso was some salty kid who's band lost the Break challenge, but then I saw Alphonso write on IG that he had nothing to do with Break.
I’d imagine most people getting VIP would now essentially means -the doors open 30 minutes earlier, but there’s a longer line to get in during those 30 minutes - not everyone can fit on the viewing platforms (sucks for those who bought just for that perk) - free Wi-Fi gets more traffic - comfortable seating becomes more limited - private bar and food vendors get similar wait time as GA ones
I know that technically the whole Collective thing is under their banner but I'm mostly talking about the other events. I like most of the people that perform there but there are some that just make me want to immediately turn the show off and never watch it again. The production also makes it hard for me to enjoy sometimes. At least they have Prazak now so I don't have to listen to KG saying "holy fuck" for 3 hours.
I remember seeing Freelance Wrestling at the Warped Tour in Tinley Park in 2016. They had Mustafa Ali, Pre Bullet Club Marty Scurll and some others. I vividly remember one of the band members wrestling a match, it might have been Andy Williams wayyy before he was the Butcher.
I'm not sure I'm understanding what you're getting at? Does this mean they are increasing # of VIP tickets or...? I'm feeling like I missed something. But FWIW, this is kind of how VIP is for every festival, no? The viewing areas and seating areas generally don't have capacity for everybody with that pass level, WiFi gets a lot of traffic, etc.
I also bought tickets in November, not knowing anything about Johnny D or how bad this would get I just found this in my spam folder. Boozlers... We wanted to show you the love you deserve. jeez, this is pretty tough to listen to. on one hand he makes good points about trying to find the next gems, and then he says wild shit like, high schoolers want to party!! let's take out a billboard that says "wanna party??" yikes. the lineup unfortunately never lived up to the price point. he seems to forget that bamboozle used to have legitimate headliners! he seems so out of touch with the current festival landscape. the cancel culture rant was so bad.
They upgraded all NFT tickets to VIP. What I’m saying is there’s no way doing this won’t significantly worsen the VIP experience for everyone (NFT people and OG VIP purchasers alike). They’re no way they have the infrastructure to provide all of those things to all of the people they’ve now promised them to
the bullying of random commenters is concerning, but also the want to party with highschoolers raised even more red flags for me. just a weird thing to keep harping on tbh
Kinda ballsy for there to be a Say Anything m&g considering what’s come out about Max the past few years
This looks a lot like what I was promised at the last event of his that I went to, it ended up being the most scam vip I’ve ever heard of lol I was like “this is what vip is?” Hardly anyone even showed up again after seeing it, I only went back for a bottle of water and to use the bathroom here or there haha
Well it makes sense that Scamboozle would have one of the worst scammers in the scene as one of its “Headliners” lol
The hosts of the podcast basically work for him & linc so it’s not like they had much choice in doing the interview
This is what’s very weird to me, the high schoolers. It raises the creepiness factor a bit. Even if he has no bad intentions…an older man trying to target high schoolers for a festival just feels strange.
totally. like... listen, I used to be a high schooler that partied at bamboozle. it just seems strange now that this guy is so focused on partying with high schoolers. I still party at concerts! this is still a part of culture! it's the aim at partying with younger people just seems strange, encourages underage drinking, etc. I'd guess this is part of the reason they took it down.
If John had just said “we wanna target this to a new generation” it wouldn’t have been weird. But saying “we want to party with Hugh schoolers is so fuckin’ creepy. Yeesh
Yeah targeting a new generation is fine, no qualms with that. I feel that's what like, Lollapalooza, is trying to largely do now. But mentioning wanting to party with high schoolers...eyebrows have definitely been raised by many.
See I actually took this all to mean that they've barely sold any VIP passes, and the GA presale tickets they sold were so few that they needed to upgrade people to fill the areas out.
