In a way I think it sheds more a light on how poor the festival is doing. It’s legit not on anyone’s radar.
But also, if you go out of your way to create an Instagram page to mock someone else then be prepared to face some sort of consequences. Obviously this John guy is mad but it's hard for me to feel bad for the other side.
I don’t agree at all. The page has done nothing but highlight all of the blatant lies John D told paying customers and the abuse he’s thrown at them. That absolutely should be exposed
Yea it def started as just a collection of all the promises, lies, rip offs, and inconsistencies. Like a place to collect them all.
I think is way different to mock a festival and say everything that is wrong with it to make fans aware of a possible scam than a personal attack. From what I remember the IG page never mocked John D personally.
Doesn't change what I said. Whether if it's justified or not, if you bring yourself into something like this then you become a part of this.
So people should just sit idly by and let this guy take advantage of and harass people? That’s silly. You don’t have to feel bad for the guy, nobody’s asking you to, but it’s a little weird to go out of your way to make a post telling people you don’t when the other side is so very clearly in the wrong.
Also consider that it seems John D is trying to dox the wrong guy and not the one running the account.
It’s not the same when it’s a brand/public figure vs a private individual. Even if that page was acting comparable to how John is, they’re a nobody. The second he responds and uses his massive platform against them, it’s punching down.
Let me ask you this: If you were the one running that Scamboozle page and everything that John D said will happen will end up happening. There will be some kind of event outside your house that will make your life a living nightmare. After all that happens and you have to deal with whatever happened, thousands of people knowing your name, address and face, your neighbors trying to kick you out of your house, you are getting sued and a bunch of other shit (that is probably the worst case scenario)... When you think back, would you still think that it was worth it? If so then your morals are much higher than mine.
Literally none of that is actually going to happen because John is a compulsive liar who routinely talks out of his ass, but in the event it ever did, yes. I’ve been to protests and been arrested twice (this isn’t me trying to sound cool or something, just a relevant comparative imo) for standing up to injustices in our world. I don’t regret it. The consequences of something don’t matter to me if it’s right.
Also no one should ever have to fear being doxxed and harassed at their home just for making an Instagram account and pointing out facts. Everything they say is either objectively true, appears true, or is a personal opinion and is presented as such. It’s not slander. It’s not libel. And even if it was John’s response goes WAAAYYY beyond any reasonable response OP could have expected. It’d be like if my neighbor let his dog poop in my yard, so in response I blew up his car. You can’t say someone “brought something upon themself” when that thing is a massive escalation that no normal person would ever expect.
i wonder how ironclad the performer contracts are, i'd love to see some of the bigger names drop off this in the next week. people are tagging all the big performers in the comments of the email post.
I wonder if that's the same dude I saw hitting on underage girls at Pete Wentz's now defunct Angels & Kings bar in NYC?
Demi Lovato's the same person who went on a tirade that diabetic friendly and celiac friendly food options are discriminatory against overweight people. Not surprised she was supporting anti-mask sentiments back in 2020.
