I saw this ad on Facebook today for Papa Roach playing at a (smaller) arena in Washington. Hollywood undead is one of the supports. https://www.facebook.com/events/467461505513495

it is not great that my feed is flooding trying to sell tickets when the show is this weekend.

I wouldn't consider Papa Roach an arena band

The big surprise: all the bands that are participating in the battle of the bands will play Bamboozle!

And it'll still be a pay to play scheme for them

Can confirm in 2010 my band made it to the finals for the Bamboozle Break contest. In the end we did not get to play the festival, and lost hundreds of dollars in unsold tickets.

Also had to laugh that the band that won ended up playing on a small stage at the same time as Paramore to a crowd of about 12 people.

Jersey sound did an article on all the fests and music events on the jersey beaches this summer…adjacent, beer and wine, see hear now, tidal wave etc….they did not include Bamboozle

    BURN!

Also hilarious that John D is still making that comment that "75% of the Bamboozle audience aren't even aware of the festival yet." That's a weird statement to make 8 weeks before a festival that you've been promoting for a full year. He thinks that the current low ticket sales are due to people just simply not being aware of the fest, and that one day soon tens of thousands of people are gonna start purchasing?

The more I re-read that letter the more hilarious it gets.

Yes. Specifically young people, with an eclectic taste in music and the financial means to afford $300+ tickets and multiple nights in an Atlantic City hotel on short notice.

They used an IG post about Scowl's new single today to casually mention that Trippie Redd is playing. Which is um, a strange way to announce your headliner.

Apologies if this has already been brought up, but there’s no mention of Bamboozle on Limp Bizkit’s website or anything. Lol

EDIT: It’s not even on Papa Roach’s website either. Huh…

Papa Roach did post something on IG at the time of their annoucement. Might've just been a story though.
Limp Bizkit absolutely nothing. Which is odd because they have promoted their other festival appearances. Seems very sketch!

I feel like Limp Bizkit is, at best, a lazy band when it comes to social media. Haha. I'd also imagine the other festivals they're playing have shit locked into the contracts about promoting via socials that Bamboozle doesn't seem to have.

I'm pretty sure Riot Fest has it too. The day that announcement drops I'm pretty sure all of the bands with social media accounts are obligated to post/share the line-up.

I'm guessing Limp Bizkit just like, forget or something. Says more about LB and their take on the importance (or lack thereof) of the Bamboozle performance rather than them not having a contract or whatever. Would be another thing if it was there and then disappeared.

EDIT: Not saying there's nothing sketchy happening. But assuming it because of this is... I dunno. There's plenty of other concrete sketchiness happening. LOL

So, tomorrow must the big day as the statement says 'later this week'?

I just read an IG comments saying "there will be a major announcement soon, but there will be two additional announcements but they will be smaller artists, djs, and local bands"... why saved those for later?

Maybe, as we’ve confirmed, John D doesn’t know what the fuck he’s doing lol

If there is one thing we all know work here is big concert announcements on Friday

What works even better than that? Making your announcements on Christmas weekend.

That’s nothing. Real geniuses announce a date for their announcement and then don’t announce anything that day.

You know. Maybe John D is more of a marketing genius than we give him credit for. Maybe we’re all in 2023 and he’s in 3023

So Ice Spice was definitely like, "not gonna make this shitshow one of my first live performances ever", right?

Adding boring ass live Turnover to this does not improve the festival at all lol

Didn't they say they were adding bands to the lineup?

Also Finch got boosted to headliner status!

This is literally no shade to Finch, but having them as headliner when you promised arena sized headliners is laughable.

They added a few. Turnover, Angel Du$t, Fiddle Head, the handful of hip-hop artists we saw on the leaked admat... And I think there's probably a few more.

But again. Splitting it all up the way that they do is such a mis-step. It's just one or two bands. But putting Limp Bizkit/Papa Roach together and having Say Anything on the same day as Finch, Valencia, Saves the Day, etc. could make a difference for certain people in terms of whether a single day is worth it.

If the Riot Fest line-ups are a work of art given the way the dailies are curated... This is what happens when you hand a toddler water colors.
