the next line is "and Saves The Day, who will be celebrating 20 years of In Reverie, as well as Palisades in their final performance ever."
Yellowcard being on this would make this very marginally worth it for me - still debatable - since i’ll be in NJ this weekend anyway, otherwise I won’t even consider buying tickets
Supporting independent promoters is important in the age of Live Nation takeovers, but this dude stinnnnnnks and the lineup is booty. All he did was shit-talk WWWY and Adjacent to trot out this... nah.
Killboy and Scrowl are female acts on here that are both good. Also Shallow Pools and Ellise. But don’t see many more.
What I don’t understand is: instead of booking a moderately cost headliner like Weezer or Bring Me the Horizon or Avril Lavigne or Evanescence (I’d imagine their fees are all in the 250k range) he instead spent that money on Oz Pearlman, Puddles Pitty Party, 3 full days of GCW Wrestling and a puppet. None of those will move tickets. Wouldn’t you rather not book that garbage and instead have an actual headliner?
I wouldn’t be surprised if the puppeteer pulled out after seeing people’s responses. I’m sure that hurt them which sucks. If that was at something like Riot Fest or When We Were Young people probably would have chuckled and checked it out out of curiosity. but at an event that was already on the hot seat for lacking any quality acts, the puppet stood out like a sore thumb and embodied *everything* the festival was doing wrong
I can’t stop thinking about how bad this played out. The only way I can see them selling tickets is if they quickly put out daily lineups and one day passes and curate it accordingly. like day one is Metal day: Bizkit, Papa Roach, Flyleaf, Motionless in White, Carnifex, Bad Omens Scowl, etc Day Two is hip hop: Trippie, Boogie, Blackbear, Rick Ross, Ski Mask, Joeybadass, etc Day Three being emo nostalgia: Yellowcard, Finch, Say Anything, Saves the Day, Valencia, Saosin, Spill Canvas, Mayday Parade, Boys Like Girls, etc. Break it out like that, charge $100 per day, and I can see the sales being salvageable.
This is 3 days too lol Again. Make this $100/$150 and talk about how you're all about new acts (but then what the hell is the point of limp bizkit and finch?) Its new acts and really really old acts. Makes no sense. Too expensive. I had zero expectations. I remember the demise of this festival. In an age where festivals are all the rage this one fell apart for a reason
It’s so much worse than I ever thought it could be. My condolences to those that bought tickets before seeing the lineup. You may better off going to see some cover bands at the casinos.
Atlantic City used to (maybe still does?) did a thing called Fake Fest where cover bands play all over the city, it’s very cheese but very fun.
People are in such denial on Instagram. So many comments like “i bet Jonas Brothers is headlining!” or “I think My Chemical Romance is blurred out!” Someone did point out that the last anniversary band could be Spitalfield doing the 20 year Anniversary for Remember Right Now. That honestly seems more believable than Yellowcard at this point.
