I don’t see how they salvage it at this point. Bc even if the third wave is stacked enough to justify the current price, that won’t even be the price anymore. you can maybe make the argument that a festival headlined by Fall Out Boy & Future and with some other strong uppercard acts is worth $300. But without even a decent undercard, you can’t say that lineup would be worth $400. At that point there are so many more festivals around the world that you could go to and get more bang for your buck.
that’s the problem with the “value” argument of festivals. The genres sometimes can be too spread apart of not enough of each particular genre. Like for example Limp Bizkit and Hollywood Undead go together but someone won’t necessarily pay $300 for those two. Sure Carnifex is good and all, but unless they add some bigger metal bands. Metal folks aren’t gonna spend $300 on this. They need to add a lot of value to this for it to be worth it to like another 5k-10k folks.
Bamboozle announced there tier 1 GA tickets are sold out. I wonder how many there were to begin with then.
Anyone in here seen Future before? God bless if they think a Future set is going to move tickets. He’s pretty terrible live, especially with this looking like a one off for him.
Gun to my head, I couldn’t name a single Future song. Part of that might be that I’m nearing 30 and don’t listen to much rap anymore. Maybe it’s what the kids really want- but somehow i doubt it. Im not trying to have main character syndrome or anything, but given that I loved the old lineups and already had money set aside to attend this year, I kinda assumed I was the target demographic that this fest would cater to. It’s really weird how the only thing Bamboozle had going for it was nostalgia and name recognition with former emo kids age 25-35, and yet they’re basically shunning that audience to appeal to… whoever the hell this is supposed to appeal to.
To be fair it might not be Future. 21 Savage was the opener for that arena show, so it feels more probable that its Savage who's the rap headliner. I guess on paper Future is the bigger artist, but in my eyes 21 is the hotter artist right now. That joint album he did with Drake a few months was pretty huge. But yeah, aside from "Mask Off" I dont think I can name a single Future song. And to be fair, I can't really name any 21 Savage songs either haha
yo THIS. it doesn't make any sense. I feel like Bamboozle was screwed once Adjacent Fest was announced. That's essentially what I expected out of Bamboozle in 2023 with a couple random pop & rap acts.
I saw Future at Rolling Loud last year and honestly had a blast. He was running around without a shirt on, playing the hits with a ton of guests. Played a bunch off the new record and threw some gems from DS2 in there also. if you're a fan you'll have fun
