Interesting that pre pandemic Demi was touring arenas, and now this recent tour it was small theaters. I still think Bamboozle would call them a headliner.
It's pretty easy to fall off in the "pop world" if you aren't continually churning out hits or developing a consistent and loyal fanbase. And I think, for better or for worse, their popularity hinged on the latter. So they've pretty objectively dropped down a bunch in popularity. I guess it depends on how you define "headliner," though. Would they be top three? Certainly not. Top six? Still no. Top nine? Maybe - with the right combination of artists. In my mind, they are just below those headliner and sub-headliner lines on a poster though. Which, honestly, is kind of a shame... Because they have a bunch of bangers and that new album is super fun.
According to the Instagram post, NFT is standing for "Not For Ticketmaster". Assuming they'll be using their own ticketing system.
I honestly don't know what Bamboozle's place is in the current landscape. WWWY and Adjacent essentially stole their mojo and with Firefly taking the year off, Sea Hear Now presumably back in Asbury Park in the fall, Adjacent in May and the usual onslaught of NYC-area festivals (Rolling Loud, Governors Ball, Sound On Sound) I don't see who they pull to really make it special.
It's def gonna be interesting what actually comes to fruition. Supposedly there are 6 reunions, depending on who they are, that could potentially be a big draw. Or not at all lol
Social media, in general, is not entirely indicative of how all people feel, unfortunately. I see TikToks all the time of people recommending and praising Brand New. If they wanted to reunite, the reality is that they could and the shows would go over really well.
John D has already said that he reached out to them to play and they said "it's not time yet" or something like that. I fully expect them to reunite in the next few years and plenty of people are going to ignore or forget the allegations.
yeah, the only place i have seen anyone ever express negative feelings about BN (justified, absolutely) is on this forum. their fanbase is absolutely ready to welcome them back with wide open arms.
3 Day passes starting at $350 was definitely steeper than I was expecting. Also a big LOL to the jab they made at the end about Adjacent's website. Again I think he's focusing way too much time and money on things no one will give a shit about, like website design.
$350 for 3 days is incredibly reasonable haha - not saying it isn't still expensive, but it is absolutely on track with festival pricing these days.
And that is including taxes/fees. WWWYF obviously had an amazing lineup but after taxes/fees a single day was basically the same price as a 3 day ticket for Bamboozle. So agreed - very reasonable.
$350 isn't unreasonable, but I would definitely hold off and just buy resale tickets a month or two out.
True. I don’t keep track closely of festival prices but I was thinking of Firefly which is around the same price as this who's headliners are usually some of the biggest names out there with many other larger names under the bill as well
I didn't say I thought the price was unreasonable, just that I was surprised Bamboozle was charging that much. I've gone to plenty of music festivals in the last 15 years and yeah $350 seems pretty standard, but those were also your Lollas and Roos and Coachellas. If Bamboozle is gonna charge the same amount as the big dogs I really hope they've got the lineup to back it.
Am I the only one who is reading the whole "NFT" thing as a straight-up gimmick? I feel like I'm missing something.
Is there any reason to think resale prices will drop a lot after the initial on-sale date? I know it happened for WWWYF but I think that was mostly because people realized they couldn't go to Vegas, flights were too expensive, etc. I think Bamboozle will have more of a northeast region draw and i'm not sure if we could rely on the prices dropping a lot on the secondary market. Plus, the 3 separate announcement / tiers of ticket pricing make it more complicated.
I think it is. Didn’t someone mention in the thread earlier that NFT actually stands for “Not Fucking Ticketmaster” or something like that?
