I want the lineup to end up great so I can buy a ticket and have a great time at a music festival I grew up loving, but I also really really want this guy to fail miserably
As someone who went to this, in no way is this how they did things lol, at all…he is lying, he would be like riddles for the next announcements, and then they would announce them all.
Apparently his sassy comments today include hints about artist additions? And that him saying the “last two days were stolen” is a hint at someone? I couldn’t care less about playing into this, call me when the full lineup is posted. I did see though that someone confirmed Lil Uzi Vert, and John D confirmed no Korn.
The last two days were stolen. Two days ago was Sunday. Taking Back Sunday? They aren't on Adjacent... EDIT: If true, this is actually a good example of the old hints. That makes borderline sense at best and it feels like such a stretch.
They could bring out steve aoki for there song together. Or I guess he could bring them out for his cute without the e remix.
I'm not sure that it would be worth the effort to set all the DJ equipment up for a single song, hah. They played that track all summer without him... But yeah, if they're both on the bill I feel like there's a decent chance Adam comes out and does a song with him.
Nice that people of New Jersey will finally get a chance to see Taking Back Sunday. Real rare booking there…
My guess is the Stolen reference is to Dashboard Confessional. I’m sure TBS will be on the bill but if they were billed at Adjacent I’d think they’d be in the third row. I’ll be sad to see Chris get involved in this mess but he did that emo cruise a few months back as well. Though that actually sold out. I just looked at the Adjacent lineup again and it is stacked. So many bands there would have been bands that I expected to play this. I’d consider going if I didn’t want to pay so much for lodging.
Korn? Bizkit? What is this, a festival or a buffet?! Side note: John D just confirmed a buffet as the final attraction for Bamboozle 2023.
Taking Back Sunday and Dashboard really do seem like boilerplate bookings for a festival like this, but it's just nice to know they may have possibly booked an act that I'm a fan of lol But yeah TBS has played every Riot Fest in the last 10 years, and did most of the Bamboozles back in the day. It would be weird if they WERENT on the lineup.
You know I would not complain if a music festival had a reasonably priced buffet as a food option, that would be dope
Coachella lineup dropping today or tomorrow, Bonnaroo lineup dropping Tuesday. So if Boozle sticks to their word about phase 3 coming on 1/13, I guess it would make sense to think they're sharing some big acts from these fests, with Chella and Roo having it in the booking agreements to get first dips. Perhaps Blackpink as the pop headliner? Seems like something he'd try for.
I stumbled upon this Bamboozle 2011 documentary that I totally forgot about: It's an entertaining watch to see: 1) how much of a pain in the ass John D is, 2) see what Bamboozle started as, and 3) see what it became in those final years. Watching this reminded me that they were still an independent fest back in 2011 and that lineup was still stacked. There was the mainstream acts like Lil Wayne, Bruno Mars, Wiz Khalifa, LMFAO and Waka Flaka, the left field bookings like Motley Crue, Insane Clown Posse and Boys 2 Men, but then a stacked scene lineup with Further Seems Forever (with Chris), TBS, Dashboard, Gaslight Anthem, Circa Survive, ADTR, NFG, Movielife, Mayday Parade etc. There was enough on that lineup to remind you of what this started out as back in those Skate & Surf days. He seemed to be self aware back in 2011 to know how to balance the old with the new, and I'd like to hope he can still pull that off now. But yeesh right now it's not looking good.
