Can you survey 50 people to see if they’d pay $400 to come back and see it again, with a puppet and a poet performing.
I’ve actually asked like ten people who typically go to these GCW weekends and there is one in April and June already. They said almost exclusively get ready to be shocked…:they are either going to adjacent already or depends on the bands.
I assume one of the headliners was the last day ? And then probably didn't have anything to announce after they said no.
Absolutely wild that after announcing the puppet and poet they just said "fuck it, no more announcements" despite having two days left in their dumbass "10 days of Bamboozle" thing. Is it because they weren't getting good reactions from the first 8 days? I can't think of any other reason, but that also means they thought they would get good reactions from those announcements which.... yikes
it absolutely has to be because he was tired of dealing with the backlash everyday from these announcements
Yep, that is all I can think of. Which is so crazy lmao... what the hell did he expect??? I know this guy is delusional, but so delusional that he actually thought people would be like "HELL YEA!!!" to these garbage announcements is a whole other level
Almost like the last two announcements were just gonna be a magician and another edm artist no one has heard of and he was like not doing this again.
I’m conflicted because on one hand, I want this fest to succeed and get the proper comeback it deserves. On the other hand, I love watching the shitshow go down and I want more drama hehehehehe
Same.. I live just a 1.5 hour drive from A/C so I do want to end up going when all is said and done, but would require prices to drop on StubHub too
The part that concerns me is that if they have a really strong phase 3 and headliners they could easily brush off the backlash and say like "yeah, just wait for phase 3 and you'll see" I mean, they were saying stuff like that already.
I think it’s not so much the backlash that got to him, but the lack of traction the fest was getting. Hardly any publication wrote about the phase 1 announcement, and I think he was hoping phase two spread across 10 days would help the fest go “viral.” Not a single music news publication wrote about the fest at all, and with only a messily 9k Instagram followers, their lackluster announcements were falling on deaf ears. I really can’t imagine they sold more than a dozen tickets last week. Maybe someone smart convinced them to just hold off on these lineup sprinkles and just drop it all at once when it’s ready
Just took a quick dive and found that AP, Rock Sound and BrooklynVegan posted about the first wave only, most of the other news outlet that posted about Bamboozle were mostly local NJ sites and radio stations. Compared to Adjacent where almost every major music outlet posted about it. So you might be right!
Is there even anybody asking the festival why they didn't do the full 10 days? I'm not seeing much of anything. Which is probably a good indicator in and of itself as to why they stopped.
Maybe they deleted them (which if they did that’s such unprofessional shit), but there were quite a few people in the comments section on Instagram that called them out for it. On today’s post and on the poet announcement
You're right. It's all on IG. Twitter is a total dead zone for them, apparently... LOL That's me being too used to Riot Fest, hah.
On Bamboozle website they added Alex Sampson to the line up, along with WhoKilledXIX and Oz Pearlman who is the magician lol
