I’m assuming today and yesterday is him just trolling us for all the valid criticism, and New Year’s Day their announcement will be a handful of actual artists. If true, continues to show how much of an asshole this guy is. I hope this lineup ends up being good and I buying a pass for 20 bucks on stubhub the week of
The assumption is that this is ‘secret set’ like back in day. But the secrets are only fun if there’s a lineup that gets people to a festival.
It seems like times have changed and they have not adapted. I used to get so excited for the hints and the puzzles but that’s because they would usually be announcing so many good bands. Not sure how many bands this festival will have in comparison to the old times.
I still feel like the lineup is mostly complete minus the headliners and maybe 5 or 6 more artists. That's why John is taking this so hard. That this pretty much is the lineup
John really screwed himself by announcing the fest 2 Years in advance. Now all the industry people that hate him can take the artists he would have booked
Say he does in fact have FOB and/or other decent headliner names… at what point does this marketing shit show and obvious lack of ticket sales affect the headliners? Either he’s not going to afford them if tickets don’t spike with announcements, or the bands aren’t going to want to be associated this this nonsense. Where’s all the “emo fyre fest” people for this obvious disaster?
well in the hypothetical that FOB is a headliner, they haven’t played NJ or NY in like 5 years. And they’ll have signed a radius clause not allowing another tri state area show for a bit. So I feel their name on the bill will bring in about 15k tickets, regardless of who else is on the bill.
As someone who’s seen FOB many times, I understand they’re a big name but I serious doubt they have that kind of draw. The last two times I saw them were both in under 2k cap rooms, and I paid a total of $30 for both shows. Now I know that’s not the norm for them, and it was in the Midwest but still… I don’t think they’re big enough to save this thing
Fall out boy can move tickets but the most expensive tickets for there own concert would be like 200 max. If I lived in the area I would just drive the 3 or 4 hours to the next show and see them somewhere else.
No I think it’s real. I guess it’s a guy who used to just always show up at Bamboozle every year without officially being on the lineup or something.
From what I found his name is Gregory Schwartz and he performed Bamboozle in 2009 and 2010 as he was in the actual schedule. It seems he did a kind-of welcome speech too each day. (no title) Based on the IG comments, it seems he is a character part of Bamboozle lore, but weird to make an IG announcement for him, specially as he is also not listed in Bamboozle's website.
I genuinely can’t believe they went out of their way to do this 10 days of bamboozle thing and then spent 2 of those days to announce a fucking puppet and a a guy who writes poetry lmao Actually I can believe it
Yeah I’m pretty sure FOB hasn’t played anything smaller than arenas and ampitheaters in the last 15 years (aside from the tiny club tour after the reunion). They even co-headlined baseball stadiums last summer lol. And they cancelled their tri-state show because of Covid. If they’re playing this, their day will sell very well.
Not sure who this is but he posted this at noon today at the same time Bamboozle posted The Poet. Not sure if that’s them trolling us, or if this guy posted a day early
