The biggest surprise from those comments is that there are actually people who blindly bought tickets last month
Usually with the other announcements there were a couple of people praising the bookings and defending the festival saying stuff like "we dont understand Bamboozle vibes", but there are no positive comments this time lol
People are an allowed to be upset at this point, we are about halfway? Maybe more through and the value is nowhere close.
I wonder why they posted this act for a day when they didnt announced other bands. If they posted it the same day as Blackbear or Kayzo or any other big act probs it wouldnt be a bad look as it is now.
Honestly, more than anything, I think the size of the festival is the issue here. If they took it a step or two down? This line-up would work nicely. See also: South By So What?! That festival pulls off what Bamboozle seems to be going for really well. But they seem to carefully curate and balance their line-up. There's an undercard to match the headliners spread out nicely across multiple days.
yeah I listed all those assuming they were all under 50k. I’d even imagine acts like TEN, TDS, LoLo and Maggie would be in the 15-20k range. I’m sure that’s the same cost as this GCW wrestling. I’m afraid to know what this puppet cost him lol
I know someone made a joke about it….but do we think it’s actually possible the whole “nft ticket” is a way for them to avoid refunds if this gets cancelled? I’m really curious what the terms and conditions said on those purchases.
The puppet is from Chile, just a flight from Santiago to NJ sounds expensive. I wonder if its just one puppeteer or if it has a whole crew. I want to believe they will pay them their flights/accomodations and just a small fee for "playing". Also from their IG, it seems they mostly perform at elementary schools in Chile, its such a weird booking.
The defenders on the social media posts are odd, most of them are basically admitting the lineup is horrible so far but they trust John D cause the Bamboozle lineups were always so good. It’s like what signs so far do you have that this thing is going to get that much better?
Watched some live videos of this puppet show and it’s for kids… like, quite literally. Not sure what they’re planning here or what they were thinking…
Yo Gabba Gabba would be dope ngl. Specially if they bring some of their musical guests (looking at you MCR and TBS)
I still think there's a scenario where the bigger acts they supposedly have remaining to be announced might fill this in a bit more and make it all tie together. If what they're dropping now are primarily undercard, earlier in the day artists... A solid headliner and a few more late afternoon/early afternoon acts could solidify this. Example: If Fall Out Boy is one of the headliners and they managed to snag them and Yellowcard for the same day? Pairing them with New Found Glory, Mayday Parade, Valencia, and Sueco would 100% work for a stage. And would probably draw really well for that day. I'm not convinced that they'll actually pull it off... But I can see aspects of this line-up that could work well if they were tied together with the right headliners/stage closers. The issue is that they're all being presented like a really big deal when, in reality, they should have tempered expectations.
The NFT ticket thing just seems like such a scam, if there’s a cancellation people are gonna get screwed
Because speculation is fun? And they still haven't announced headliners and presumably quite a of the later in the day acts? "Hope" is a strong word too. Like I said: I'm not expecting them to pull it off. But there are definitely scenarios where it could all tie nicely together with the addition of a few more acts. Not for me. And presumably, not for most of the people in this thread... But for a certain type of potential attendee in a younger demo.
The refund policy is on the web site. I'm not sure how this compares to other agreements but... It seems kinda sketch to me. I'm also not a legal expert and the wording is confusing to me, hah. It basically says that if the event gets cancelled they can just say "LOL sorry, here's a ticket to another 'comparable' event' based on what management decides. I may also be completely reading it wrong. Then again, offering no refunds after a cancellation would be a surefire way to just destroy their own name. So I dunno. EDIT: I just checked and the Welcome to Rockville T&C says something similar, albeit in a much clearer way. Might just be normal terminology to protect the festival from offering refunds if it needs to be cancelled/postponed for another year. I'd imagine if it got cancelled outright, refunds would be offered as a sign of good faith. This would be a long way to go for a money grift that would ruin one's name permanently.
