My theory is it's mcr. A big rapper. Looking at past years they seem to always have a rapper headline. So maybe asap rocky or something similar. And then maybe a smaller one show only headliner like cobra starship or the format.
You're way over estimating the popularity of Cobra and Format lol Even as a one off reunion they wouldn't even be on the second line.
They had midtown and the get up kids be headliners looking back at previous years. If it's a reunion for just one show I could see it.
I dont think The Get Up Kids ever headlined. Midtown "headlined" the Skate and Surf festival back in 2015 but that was an indie fest that severely undersold. I think they only moved 3.5k tickets. And I put headlined in quotes because technically New Found Glory and Alkaline Trio were the headliners that year. Midtown closed the first night and then played during the day the second night.
Bamboozle has heavily said that the lineup will be moving forward instead of back. So I'm thinking lots of emo rappers. Hyper pop artists and some edm. Along with throwback artists. Why I think will see a few rappers or a big pop artist maybe as headliners.
I'm interested to see what happens. Bamboozle always blew my mind when I was 15 to 18. It was always the artists I liked at the time. But now as a 30 year old looking at the lineups. They weren't that crazy or had that big of acts besides the 2012 lineup. I'm not sure if they will be trying to get the next generation of people into the lineup or go for the 30 and up crowd like adjacent. But they seem to be going for both from John's posts.
I just get the vibe emo throwback artists will only be like 30% of the lineup. Would love to be wrong though
Remember when he had to solves puzzles, and hunts to get waves of band announcements. God let’s hope that is all dead.
There way of announcing shit was what killed them in the first place. The games was fun but eventually we gotta cut to the point
Rolled my eyes at "NFT tickets" and audibly laughed at "honor Warhol." There's probably an argument to be made both ways, but one of the big takeaways from WWWY has to be that announcing an entire killer lineup at once can get huge social media reach. I don't think parceling out the announcement over a couple months gets that kind of traction anymore. I could be wrong though.
Yeah… I’ve been excited for this for so long,& I’m still holding out hope, but things are getting weird
The Get Up Kids have never headlined Bamboozle, but they did headline the Saturday edition of Skate and Surf...in 2002. That was a fun weekend.
I'd be really excited if they got The Format, Piebald, Hot Rod Circuit, or the most unrealistic hope, The June Spirit.
I shouldn't have said headlined. But they were top billed in 2009 right under fall out boy and third eye blind
Why do I get the feeling Bamboozle's "nine headliners" are all going to feel like normal big festival subheadliners?
I'm not sure what the poster looked like, but the Get Up Kids played at like 3 in the afternoon that year. Definitely weren't headliners. Or even sub-headliners.
