It's on youtube music for those who can vpn. And yeah, I'm loving this.

 

this song feels like it bridges the gap between with you in spirit and Too Quick to Forgive. fantastic stuff.

 

That's a great, great song

 

Stayed up past midnight so I could listen. Definitely like it, but can see how it does not really fit on either Too Quick to Forgive or With You In Spirit. A good b-side, but not their best b-sides (see Slowheart).

From their IG reel sharing the song:
New song “Alive and Well” is out now. This is a b side from “with you in spirit” and it is actually the first song we wrote together when we decided to reunite. We didn’t think it fit on the album but we still thought it was a solid track so we wanted to share it with you.

Then someone asked in the comments if that means it was written before savior mode and last to know and they replied with a yes.

 

As confirmed in the press release about the song, yep - predates the EP and album.

Double agreed, this is the standout from the era for me. The guitar riff goes a long way in lightening the vibe

 

Whenever any b-side is released, there's always a contingent that says it's better than anything on the most recent release.

 

WYIS didn't meet my expectations but had a few really solid tracks. This is on par with those.

 

Of course. B-sides are often cut for not fitting in with the album. Only natural that some people will prefer whatever made the song an outlier

 

They should have just done an album with this song, savior mode, and too quick to forgive then add 7 others from the new one and it would have been awesome.
