i am a new fan so it probably doesn’t count the same - i like this album quite a bit, but savior mode is for sure better than everything on here to me
Agreed with people saying this all kind of sounds the same, but I dig the vibe and it's a pretty easy listen
I like this a lot. 2 minor qualms - blends a bit too much. And they do the duh duh duh duh duh duh guitar riff / half time thing on 3 songs
a little of myself has become the standout for me as of late, this got way better after reading all the lyrics, nothing anything next level but definitely makes it hit harder
This is probably their easiest album to listen to front to back, some songs are better than others but there are no skips and it isn’t super long, think I’ve listened to it like 5 times the last two days just running errands
If they added savior mode to it I think it might be considered their greatest album of all time . Thoughts ?
Doesn’t really move the needle much for me. Nobody was clamoring for the Braid split songs to be on TTWTWM. I do think the Slowheart songs are legitimately better than some on LWM, but Savior Mode and Last to Know are the same quality as the full length IMO.
k why this entire team i thought slowheart was some sort of side project or something. i've literally never knew that ep existed until now lol how did i miss that
Since I’ve run out of ways to say how much I love Slowheart, I think I’ll say it’s my current favorite EP ever, I can’t think of anything I’ve listened to more, really wish they’d throw Revelation into the live set though.
Uh no, that ending to Ain’t It Sweet is one of the few times we get some great explosive instrumentals from the album
Just listened all the way through LWM for the first time since the new one came out. As what usually happens, being able to listen to it through the lens of knowing what the new one sounds like, I enjoyed it a lot more. It’s obviously the oddball in the discog, but I think the spacious, reverb-y production, electronic drums, Jon’s falsetto, all lead to a really unique sounding record, and For A Walk was really the only time I felt like it didn’t work for me. It sounds like a band at the end of their rope, burned out, and tired of doing what they’ve always done, and I think when the vibe calls for it, there's nothing in their discog that can fill the same sonic space. It’s a fantastic album that was totally misunderstood when it came out, even from me.
