Cross to Bear is still my least favorite, but I can't tell if it's because of first single syndrome or if I actually feel that way. I do vibe hard with the chorus and bridge, the intro and verses just don't get me stoked to listen to the song, but I'm vibing by the time the first chorus hits. I think listening to 2-3 singles is the way to go, based on how long an album is. I should've stopped after Believe the Hype. I didn't need to hear Any Means or (accidentally) Ain't It Sweet. I am glad I held off on the closer though.
I think this might be my favorite album of theirs. My favorites are pretty evenly distributed too, which makes for a nice album listening flow (Ain't It Sweet, Believe The Hype, Sorrow Machine, Closer To God).
the verse melody to with you in spirit sounds so much like ready by the starting line to me i can’t not sing it when it starts
Surprised at how much I enjoyed my first listen considering I don't really like anything they've done since Separation.
Sat on this for a couple days and this album is amazing. I prefer the 2nd half more than the 1st half, but both are great. My favorites are: Ain't it Sweet Lead Foot A Little of Myself Closer to God
Nooooo I really dig that one lol. Really well balanced mix of LWM and Things there! Lyrically closer to god is pretty great! Musically it doesn’t do much for me - they don’t really do anything interesting with that swing rhythm and the only time they break away from it is to repeat the prechorus from sorrow machine. I wish there was some type of payoff like a bridge or a boost at the end. A new riff, anything
Good set tonight in Toronto! I believe their first show up here since the reunion Band seems like they were really enjoying themselves
I really think A Little Of Myself is my favorite. Those lyrics are devastating, and it's got an aggression to it that the rest of the album doesn't quite reach for. Did anyone else have any albums you were listening to that filled a B&C shaped hole in your heart while they were broken up? I always thought Movements - No Good Left To Give was similar to a B&C album in feel. Big time fall vibes for me.
