They were GREAT last night. Opened with "Restless", played a decent bit of the pre-released songs. Neither of Last to Know or Savior Mode. Some songs from Light We Made (Midnight Zone, Postcard, Afterparty, Body Language if you count that) and TTWTWM (Tiny Raindrop, Notice Me, Reflection).
This is so good. I didn’t listen to anything prerelease, so I’m totally mind blown over how it feels like they never left.
That rhythm that any means sinks into is so sick. A whole mood, as they say. Song really reminds me of Circa
lol dude I was standing next to you before they started and we were talking football! Let me know if you find a good cheesesteak!
Dennis plays around the kit so much more freely than Bailey did, but is noticeably careful to not let it affect the way these songs land or stray too far from the rhythm section in the past. He did a bang up job here. Many of his fills feel so fresh for B&C, then I get to something like the chorus of the title track and it feels like a comforting return to the groove on Lost Your Name
Why are you not surprised? Do they just not revisit Seperation anymore? If so that's a bummer.... Quake and I Tore you apart are classics. I'm a sucker for that album and absolutely love the drum tones.
Even when I saw them when they were touring on things we think we’re missing they barely played anything from separation.
Man I've listened to it twice, and yeah I'm biased, I absolutely love this band. But I think they made an amazing record. Its got everything you could want from them. All of the songs are great, not one song that I want to skip. I honestly think its got to be up there for record of the year.
I liked the singles and the remaining songs did exactly what I was hoping in terms of giving the whole album more variety, Lead Foot and Closer to God specifically are great. Really would like to see them tonight but not sure I feel up to it
closer to god seems to be the universal favorite among anyone that has texted or messaged me about this record today
