yep. also turnover, tigers jaw, daylight/superheaven. la dispute and touche amore are outside of this genre imo. I have no scientific reasoning for that, just they're a bit heavier musically.
S tier: Title Fight, Touche Amore* A tier: B&C, La Dispute* B tier: Basement, Turnover, Tigers Jaw, Pity Sex didn't really listen to citizen/daylight/superheaven Bonus ranking of B&C albums to stay on topic: TWTWM > Light we Made > Tigers Jaw split > Separations
Title Fight, B&C, Daylight, Pity Sex Citizen, Basement, Turnover, Tigers Jaw, Pianos Touche Amore, Sainthood Reps, Seahaven ... ................. La Dispute
Yeah they were a part of “the wave”. End Measured Mike was sick, follow up was a Worthy attempt at being a little more polished, follow up did that did nothing for me, and based on seeing them perform some of those songs, I wasn’t the only one that felt way. side note: my buddy in college actually had a “the wave” shirt he wore all the time. PBTT, touché Amore, la dispute, MDAM, and Defeater.
My favorites from this era of revival emo (or whatever) are definitely the Separation, TTWTWM, Keep You, and Floral Green. I feel like things really shifted with Peripheral Vision and Hyperview.
nice to see a B&C thread bumped because they usually get a dominating share of my rotation in the fall. gonna throw on TTWTWM later on.
The album took me a while to get into. Numb But I Still Feel It, Head in the Ceiling Fan, Make You Cry, Frown and In-Between are my highlights, especially In-Between if you like HITCF.
la dispute and pianos >>>> everyone else. in that order. wildlife is the second best album of all time.
