Will be good to get a single soon and an album in the fall, they've always been a fall/winter band for me.

 

They just posted a new song clip on their Facebook page, trying to figure out how to link it now haha. Sounds good, and different. Jon sounds less nasally for sure.

 

Can you (or someone else reading this) tell me what they mean when say nasally vocals? Because I hear it used a lot but the only one where I explicitly think about in reference to that word is the dude from New Found Glory. I hated those vocals.

 

When I say it I just mean vocals that soon nasally, haha, don't think there's any more to explain than that

like i literally don't know what it means until it's to an extreme i find annoying haha. i heard it in reference to cam from sorority noise where i can kiiiind of see it but idk i attributed it to his being a smoker and all

i like the clip and im not sure what i was expecting it to sound like, but it wasn't really that. cool though, vaguely poppy

 

I don't think Cam sings anywhere near as nasally as Jon and I'm not really sure how to explain it, haha

Reminds me a lot of something, can't place it. Had me super super hyped for this though, not a sound I was expecting at all

 

Definitely sounds a little poppier and less grungy, which could be really good for them. Hoping to hear some experimentation on this release

 

is this the end of being accused of nirvana worship? stay tuned. Jon does that kind of vocal style well. I feel like this is kind of what Basement wanted to go for w Promise Everything (which i liked, am not shitting on it) but it seems more seamless with Balance rn. Obviously take my judgement from a one minute clip with a grain of salt

 

Really liked what I heard on that clip.

I know Jon loves hip hop so maybe we'll get a song with Future or some shit idk that'd be kinda tight.

 

I was literally about to post the exact same thing. I follow him on Instagram and he makes a fair amount of music related posts - all that I've ever seen are about hip hop / rap
