either or is fine naw im jk i can see why some might not see it as a driving album. i drive around and listen to music very frequently so most music sounds good in a car to me.
I dont think any of this album sounds like radiohead but I think two specific radiohead riffs were more or less deconstructed and regurgitated here (at least one was without any doubt)
Honestly think music fans would be happier if the initial reaction in listening to music wouldn't be comparing it to something else. This is a sentence with bad grammar and structure but yeah.
I used to really not like Cohen, but I enjoyed that review. Plus his How It Feels to be Something On retrospective piece was great.
Honestly if you've ever made music, put it out publicly and got critiques back and the first thing someone says is "I like it, it reminds me of...." it hurts your feelings lol
I mean I've put out music multiple times and received comments like that and appreciated them because I was getting compared to an artist I adored and someone picked up on an influence I was outwardly emulating, but yeah I agree with the premise of the statement.
im just talking in terms of sonics, wasnt paying attention to this thread just what was said in p4k review
Yes. I agree it dilutes the conversation by just saying something sounds like so and so. Though I don't think it's weird to say "oh I like this. Reminds me of so and so".
yeah and again I dont think that makes the album sound like them, but I think that they aped on a RH riff or two hard I could play smells like teen spirit on a bagpipe but it wouldnt sonically sound like nirvana
I don't hate For A Walk, but the very first time I heard it I could pinpoint exactly what I thought would make the song better. Just my opinion, but I think vocals a little closer to the style of the verses in Postcard would have matched the vibe of the song better. I also think the little guitar line that plays underneath the main synth line could have been more interesting. The first time I heard that section I was waiting for the guitar to do something cooler. Listened to this twice yesterday... Colorado style ... and I enjoyed it a lot. The first track blows me away every time.
