Gotta start the day off smelling fresh, right?

 

Bubble baths are rad

 

i took like 10 baths when i was detoxing

 

baths are weird. I feel like I need to take a shower before I take a bath. Otherwise feels like I'm sitting in bath water + the stuff I'm trying to clean off my body

 

showers are for cleaning your body and baths are for relaxing

 

I feel more relaxed sitting on the couch drinking whisky

 

My preorder came today woooo. Looks and sounds awesome.

 

This album is very very good. It feels much more cohesive than their previous work, the atmosphere it constructs gives it a sense of unity that I'm not sure is as present in TTWTWM or Separation. I think this new sound suits them well and I'm still so happy and kind of proud that they ventured outside of their comfort zone and experimented. In my eyes, it definitely paid off.


The stretch from Postcard through the end of the record is just superb.

 

I was about to ask you how but then I relistened. The bass line is definitely reverse engineered. Just like the I Might Be Wrong riff is 70% or more regurgitated on Postcard. That puts me off tbh.

 

Meh. I don't mind when bands wear their influences on their sleeves if it's done well.
Brand New has ripped off bands a couple times (The Eagles and Archers Of Loaf) and I don't mind at all.

 

It's not really just wearing an influence when you do that

I said this about the bass in Postcard when I first heard it

 

I dont think a single thing here sounds like Radiohead.

All I said was the bassline in Postcard is VERY similar to the bassline in The National Anthem!!!

 

Maybe I'll alter my driving route to include less red lights, take up smoking, convince my girlfriend to like the same music I do, and just let this album sink right into my soul. Or, I'll just admit I'm wrong and show myself out.
