I honestly had a blast last night playing Rocket League whilst listening to this. The middle section didn't seem to lose me if I recall.
After one listen I was really impressed by this. I'm wondering if a lot of people were waiting for that "heavy" song that captured their sound on the last record. It isn't there, and once you replace that expectation I think people will be able to appreciate this for what it is.
was there really a heavy song on the last record? separation yeah but last one was pretty subdued if i remember correctly
Notice Me had some pretty heavy stuff going on but thats mostly just because of Jon's screaming at the end of it
when Fame started I was excited. Felt the album needed breaks from the boomy drums and bass but then those came back in right after I had that thought and I was let down. Song is still fine tho. I dig the sound of the drums from the first single more than the albums go to percussion. The guitar tones are pretty nice
the back half still sounds very classic b&c to me. the first 6 songs is such a killer stretch. i really adore take a walk into mediocre love.
Balance and Composure: Light We Made Album Review | Pitchfork sounds about right. i'm interested to see how this stays with me over the next week. listened to it a handful of times so i think i need to give it some air.
Was reading that review thinking it was more positive than a 6.8 indicates, then I got to the last paragraph was like "oh" haha
I actually think 'Call It Losing Touch' is the best song on here. I miss the rawness of their last record tbh - it's still one of my all-time favourite albums. Call It Progression, I guess.
listened to this again in the shower this morning and yep I'm totally on board now (aside from "For A Walk")
well i didn't shower for 40 minutes lmao i started before i got in and finished while i was getting ready for class. it was a morning routine thing and so what if i sometimes take 40 minute showers
the @teebs41 and @FTank avatars are really screwing with me. listened to this twice last night and I'm hooked. I like the weird parts and wish there were actually more. this also has a fantastic opener and closer. when those two points on an album align it adds incredbile value for me. I like a good bookend to an album.
