I mean I'm just gonna say I love everything they've done up until now and I also love this. There will absolutely be big BalCo fans that will dislike the change in sound but I think that for the most part they're the kind of band that attracts a more open minded crowd than their contemporaries. Like with any band, there will be some fans that reject this but I predict this adjustment will be received lot more positively than most in here are implying. Idk. Maybe I'm way off base with that. I just love this song and am pumped about the tour announcement and also am currently halfway through Stranger Things so I've got a lot in my brain at the moment
this I wanna be Radiohead trend has to stop before it even begins that said, the song could have been good but the use of a drum machine here is baffling, it looses a lot of energy/power because of that
I definitely agree with this. Had a very strong reaction when I first listened to the song, but I liked it by the end. People are just going to have to accept that they're going in a different direction and listen to the song for what it is.
i like the song! i feel like it could have used something else to shake up the structure a lil bit, but it's still enjoyable. interested to hear what the rest of the record sounds like. hoping i can preorder this on friday when i actually have money, too many other preorders recently

It's 2:30am and I'm in Kentucky in a hotel room with someone who snores so loud i could hear it over my music and I feel like I'm going to explode but seeing that this band is touring with Foxing and coming to Michigan made me smile so that's nice
I didn't hear this until my buddy mentioned it - but Jons vocal delivery in the verses sounds so mewithoutYou
That song was pretty shitty and not because of the change in sound, it's just a bad song. At the very best it's a bad first single, it does not stand on its own at all.
I laughed really hard at the Radiohead thing, especially because I was just listening to OK Computer before this song. While I was listening to the BalCo track I thought "huh, this sounds like a bad Radiohead demo."
I've been waiting so long for their new music, and I like this song a lot, buuuuut I'm going to complain about the drums. Bailey is one of my favorite newer drummers and the loop on this song was so repetitive. I like the song overall, but I'm hoping it's not a consistent style throughout the album. I want more Bailey drums!
I dig both the track and the album art a lot. Maybe not the best first single, but I love the zone-out, wavy vibe. Can't wait to smoke with this album. Pre-order was up for a bit and should be back at 3pm EST today. If you're super impatient, here's all the merch I saw. http://imgur.com/a/GXRJ0
These look so cool, but man it's bad timing for me. I'd order the crap out of all of the variants but can't bloody afford them yet. Payday couldn't come soon enough.
The email they sent out said preorders start at 3pm est today. I didn't see anything up on the Vagrant merch site when I followed the link so I'd check back around then.
I don't hate the song at all. It sounds like a natural progression from their other albums. But I was still tired of the repetitive drums after about a minute and a half. Also do these venues seem a little large? Not hating on the guys, I'm just surprised to see them in an 1100 cap venue.
I wouldn't expect every or a majority of the songs on the album to be using a drum machine, but I'm sure some (like the single) will.
