Only time I’ve seen them was on the LWM tour so that combined with the fact it might by my least fav of the 3 is the reason for my bias (it’s a weird situation where it’s definitely not a step back of an album, the other two are just too good and I do miss some of the heaviness on LWM)
I feel the exact opposite. Too much fluff on the first two and I found LWM to be more consistent. I could have used more bite and heaviness on that one too, but I’ll take that over the middle slog on Separation and the mostly-snoozefest on TTWTWM past Notice Me. But I understand I’m in the minority with my opinion on this band’s music. I think the highs on Separation and TTWTWM fucking rule, but the lows are largely forgettable to me.
I am simply lumping Back of Your Head into the mix of the first five songs on TTWTWM. That run from Parachutes to Notice Me is largely good (Back of Your Head is alright). After that, the only songs I care for are Reflection and Keepsake.
The more I listen, it’s pretty perfect front to back, Cut me Open is my least favorite but it’s still good
Anyone looking for a ticket tonight? I bought one way back in hopes I'd be able to make the trip but couldn't justify the $600 flight solo. Just looking to recoup what I paid
I will not tolerate Back of Your Head slander. The ONLY reason I could support it being switched out for Lost Your Name is because the layered screaming/singing make the song, especially in the chorus, so maybe LYN is the better choice live if we’re having to pick. But also maybe its easier on Jon’s voice.
Night two got Quake, When I Come Undone, and Enemy instead of Keepsake, More to Me, and Stonehands. Would have preferred the latter. Postcard was awesome live. Easily the highlight of the set for me. Unfortunately, after that, Jon’s voice was fucking shot. Lastly, I know better than to expect more songs from LWM, but eight songs from TTWTWM and no more than two from anything else are was a little disappointing.
I would’ve been happy with any setlist, but it’s probably just my youth and nostalgia calling when I frown over no EP tracks. Only Boundaries and the TJ split have some of my all time favorites.
Yeah give me some Rope, Burdens, honestly if I had my way they’d play “Say” too, honestly this band needs a nice 22-23 song set in my humble opinion
Fun fact: back in the download days I never knew the Tiger’s Jaw split also had a bonus track from them called As Planned. Guess it was just never in my zip file or wasn’t included at the intitial release, and I didn’t discover it until moving to streaming in 2016/17ish. now if I could just get their Big Mouth Strikes Again cover on streaming..
As Planned is easily my favorite off that split. I discovered that song late as well. Didn't know about it until I saw this video.
I must have downloaded the same ZIP file because today I just learned there’s a 5th song on that split
