Very pleasantly surprised by this awesome news! Glad to see em’ back!

  2. Man. The guy playing drums here is spicing it up just enough, I love it. Bailey was never gonna be a tough drummer to emulate - he’s not very overactive, goes to the same bag of tricks a lot and even feels quite stiff at times. But his style was undeniably integral to their sound over the years, and I appreciate this guy for sticking to the plot while adding flavor in the little moments. That fill at 3:57 in Savior is so pocket lol Bailey would have never. Or 2:21 where he takes the typical four 1/16 note thing Bailey always did and adds a little roll to the front of it

"While you drown in Aperol. I’m erased." is a classic Jon delivery. So glad they're back

Bailey was def not asked to return. Jon mentioned when the band returns that he would not be involved. Bailey drove the decision on non-rock songs from Light We Made and the band wasn’t as into going completely that direction. There were also some issues with him keeping some of the band’s money on tours and stuff. Wouldn’t say he was the only reason they took a break, but he was a big part of influencing that decision.

It did sound like Bailey had a very bad influence on them at the very least around the end of it all, also, he stole money from the band, so... That is what's sad.

Jon being able to sport so many jackets and outfits in the video for the whole era of absence now haha. The song is beautiful! Now getting to the other one

  6. So is there a full album coming?

This is the best news. I literally screamed holy shit when I saw their tweet this morning. I thought it was a fake account.

I feel like eventually there will be an LP, but I think that may be a little farther off. I think some of the dudes have kids now? I imagine there output will be slowing/won't be the same as before.

I would say it’s probably in the works, but if the return isn’t what they thought it would be I could see them just quietly dipping out. I don’t think that will happen, but with midsize bands like this, it has to make financial sense to commit the time and work around everyone’s lives.

I know it's our little corner of the internet, but here and other social media has been nothing but positive and hyped about this. P4k even tweeted it out.

That’s why I said I don’t think it will happen. If you are someone in the band and work another job, it makes way more sense to do a small release and shows before committing to a full album. Better to test the waters first.

Press release if anyone's interested/haven't read it:

After five long years, Balance and Composure return with Too Quick To Forgive--newly signed to Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip's label, Memory Music, the alt-rock darlings sound more assured and adventurous than ever across two vulnerable tracks. Too Quick To Forgive is a reflection on personal perseverance in the wake of confrontation, told through two distinctly different scenarios. "Savior Mode" finds frontman Jon Simmons baring his soul in a way that is unparalleled in their discography, while "Last To Know" is an emotionally-resonant highlight that leaves a lasting impact well after its final notes play out. Simmons' vulnerability and emotional delivery across both tracks cut through with unflinching precision courtesy of Andy Slaymaker (guitar), Matt Warner (bass), Erik Petersen (guitar), Dennis Wilson (drums), and who the band considers their 6th member--producer Will Yip. In the fall of 2022, the group got together at his Conshohocken, PA studio, Studio 4, with a few ideas that Yip helped turn into these otherworldly tracks. "It was all magic," Jon says.
With a renewed sense of purpose, Balance and Composure will return to the stage for a series of Too Quick To Forgive release shows in some of the biggest rooms they've ever played.

Will Yip might have the world record for most band memberships.

Anthony Green might have a challenge for him but Will Yip is in many of his bands too.

With most of the guys having young families and their own careers I understand the reasoning behind no huge tours, but if we can get new B&C music and some shows here and there I am more than happy.
