This Was a Home Once was the last track I really enjoyed from them. I stayed up until Midnight to heard this guy, but it was just there like the last handful of songs. Figured we'd get an album announcement with this one, but perhaps the third?
Oh the last two I've enjoyed more than MT for sure. Either way it will be a step back in the right direction personally.
I will go to my grave with MT. I adore the album so much. I personally enjoy the direction on it a lot. I love that style of indie pop rock. I’m a sucker for it. I’m super happy they played all but 2 songs from MT when I saw them bc most of the songs are probably not going to be played live again. Disappear here is sick too. I hardly listen to L&P even though that’s what got me into this band.
Not digging the new song they just released that much. Gets way too close to that background-music-at-Target-pop sound that they are generally good at avoiding
I enjoy the new songs they've released during the pandemic. I'll take anything from these guys though. Mystic Truth still holds a super special place in my heart. I love that album.
If they can marry the sounds of Disappear Here and Mystic Truth, I'm super in. Need a little more groove in my Bad Suns
Doing a discog run this week. I just learned that Unstable and I'm Not Having Fun Anymore were initially for Mystic Truth, but left off. It also looks like theres a possibility they are back with the producer who produced their first two albums. He produced Baby Blue Shades. Thats exciting!
Between Baby Blue Shades and Heaven Is A Place In My Head, I'm very much on board for a new album with this sound. I definitely found some things I enjoyed on Mystic Truth, but the last two singles are way better than anything off of that.
I know some people here are fans of MT and I respect that. I couldnt get into it at all so I'm excited with them going in this direction as well.
MT is my favorite, but I know it's an album a lot people don't return to. That's cool haha. I'm just happy they put out an album like that. Super stoked they're diving back into more synth pop stuff though.
Love the new song - excited for the first time in a long time. Is there a definitive LP plan in the near future? Or are these one offs?
They just launched a new look, new promos, new merch, and a video for this song. I'm guessing an LP is in the near future.
Cristo has shared stuff from the studio over the past year or so. Def a new album from what I remember him saying.
