Brian is so cool that I am sure he must love him. Having Brian provides Brett the Opportunity to take the role he does. You can hear the respect Brian has for Greg and Brett in the interview, and for Bad and it’s history.
I've always found this fascinating, so bear with some back of the envelope math: Interesting point at 15:30 onward: Brian talks about how they play these casino shows because they're paying them 5x "what they're worth." A minute later (16:51) he quotes that there's a difference between playing a normal club and playing those same casinos for "$471K that someone got from their dad." So, ballparking it and (maybe) rounding, are they a $100K/show band? I legit cannot tell if that's too high or too low (feels too low, but I also know people are shit about paying for music). This source may suck, maybe not, but it's similar to the flyers that were posted on AP.net boards years ago and a new source below (no idea how accurate that is): Artist Search - Event Resources Presents If an artist takes 70% of the ticket price (other 30% goes to house/booking agent), and they've gotta set aside 55-60% of that for taxes, gear, roadies fees and other fees before they pay themselves...that's ~$6K per man, per show, post-tax, for playing alone (no merch payout, etc.). He also talks about playing no more than five weeks away from home. Average number of shows per week is 4.3. So that's $130K-ish per tour jaunt, per player (I'm assuming they have an equal split). 2-3 tour cycles per year, plus a few festival shows where they're getting this casino-style cash, plus whatever they make from merch (and the pittance they may make from album sales) and that's about $400K post-tax to live on. Somehow, that still feels like they're underpaid.
Gotta get a side hustle and write a book, teach, own a label, produce records or be a fill in for Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies.

Brian was on The Bouncing Souls patreon podcast the other day and mentioned that they are going back to The Roxy next month to do a Decades Pt 2. 4 nights/decades again with all new songs
They looked like they were having some fun doing these shows and there must be some profit for the band. Hopefully the do the mini do. Segments again between some songs. I love the fact they are making music together and still excited to be a band. Hope that means a shorter gap between albums.
Guested on my friend Levi's podcast and we talked all about The Gray Race! Episode 16: Jacob, Montana, and Bad Religion
So excited to see where they go with the setlists this time. I feel like they got most of the singles and hits out of the way the first round!
Really looking forward to seeing some deep cuts! Honestly I’m most excited to hear them play songs from the Brett-less albums that we’ve never gotten to hear.
Willing to bet the Unknown song we get is Billy Gnosis. That's the only one they've pulled out live in the last 20 years other than Dichotomy if I remember right
