I’d love for their to be a new album (which would be quick), but with Faith Alone 2020 being a rework and What Are We Standing For A B-side, I’m guessing this must also be a bside or single.
Empire/True North Suffer Process No Control Age of Unreason Recipe For Hate Stranger Than Fiction The Dissent of Man New Maps of Hell How Could Hell Be Any Worse? The Gray Race New America Generator Against the Grain No Substance Into the Unknown Think I’m the first to have ATG and Generator so low and recent stuff so high. Suffer was the first record I ever heard from them. Process was the first I ever bought. I’m mid 30’s and this list is fairly iron clad for me.
I think it’s reasonable to have really different lists among us. Different records have different strengths.
Suffer by Bad Religion! — Better Yet This was a fun listen for anyone interested (Brendan Kelly's podcast) Currently about halfway through a discog listen and then I will have my ranking
The performances are up on YouTube now via a dude in Chile. Everything but the 80's, and he's been loading them the last few days, so I would expect that soon. Sound quality is great, the video quality is not quite 1080 HD but it's better than letting them disappear. I hope they end up releasing a digital download.
Great song! I get the feeling this may be more from an EP? Jay said in a recent interview that the band still feels like the Age OF Unreason album cycle doesn't feel finished and feels 'on-hold'. Could just be a one off too. Always good to have new BR.
I can’t listen just yet since I’m stuck at work but all of these comments about the New America-esque sound have me intrigued.
Getting these bsides/alt versions/demos from Age of Unreason has been great. Not sure if some of these were part of the original plan to release, but I wish more bands would do that (and maybe BR can dig into the back catalogue if there are a few more unknown gems).
I finally got around to listening to the new song and whoever said it was like a mashup of Dissent of Man and the New America totally nailed it. I always love it when Bad Religion isn't afraid to get a little more pop with their stuff and the chorus with the harmonies in the background is just perfect.
Brian is the most interesting cat in this band and that is really high praise. What a life the guy has lived. To speak about it so eloquently and passionately after 4 decades is awesome.
tbh id love to hear a convo between him and brett at some point. i wonder what that relationship is like.
