idk what's their deal haha, as long as they don't pull a Glassjaw it's fine. have you ever heard this bside ? there was a studio video showing them recording it before American Love came out, and I didn't know they had finally released it also, this article is from a lifetime ago but there's some stuff about the unreleased debut full lenght : Bad Rabbits: Harmonizing Talent and Indie Spirit | IAtv | Indie Ambassador
From that quote it sounds like stuff with Teddy Riley didn't work out because of some contract they signed with him. Bummer.
Damn this is really great. Differently a different vibe from them, while still keeping prominent elements of funk and soul.
Wow, this album is not at all what I expected. Definitely enjoying it on first listen, but damn if this isn't the darkest thing they've done
I think it's really striking how the Teddy Riley produced singles they released in the last few years mostly showed them moving in an even more poppy, slickly produced direction with some of the rough edges sanded out... and then they moved in the complete opposite direction with this new album and made an emotional, angry rock record. Definitely a very conscious move in a different direction than they were headed, and I love that.
It seems to me that they have been making this album and the Teddy one side-by-side, and I could totally see how they are meant to be two sides to the same band
Ugh darker!? Their whole career trajectory is disappointing. Stick Up Kids was the most excited I've been about a band's future in forever.
Whoah. This is different. There are parts where the guitars sound like Thursday or something on "Clouds"
